Red Sox - 220 010 000 - 5 6 1Josh Beckett went much deeper in the game than expected after throwing 77 pitches through four innings. He ended up with this line: 7-4-3-3-5, 119 (one of the three runs was unearned).
Mariners - 020 100 000 - 3 6 0
Of the six Boston hits, three were home runs -- and they accounted for all of the team's runs: Jason Bay hit a two-run shot in the first, Jason Varitek went deep for two runs in the second, and Jeff Bailey led off the fifth with a solo blast.
Jacoby Ellsbury singled in the seventh to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. The other two hits were singles by Julio Lugo and Mike Lowell.
All five AL East teams won on Saturday, so Boston stays 2 GB behind Toronto and New York is still 4.5 GB.

what a terrible thing to happen on dozen egg night.
201?
FUCK ME!
DP's about halfway to last year's DP total, 34 games in.
Funny call by Don there
Holy crap, Beckett's back out for the 7th?!
He was already at 107 pitches!
The road leaving Lake tahoe is like that as well, the sides of the road has flowers and crosses everywhere, enough to scare the livin shit out of ya.....
beckett in but secret weapon out.
that was a unique raised voice from don.
I think FY has had four FY's this season thus far. Thought I'd throw that in there. Either he says FY or he's thinking it. One of them being a play during Wake's no-hit bid in Oakland.
Funny call by Don there
I know! It was like he saw a ghost in the middle of the call.
That sounds like an elevated train.
The road leaving Lake tahoe is like that as wellI assume you're referring to route 50 out of South Lake?
O'Brien: "We have a slight delay here as a beer bottle is on the warning track, so Jacoby Ellsbury has to go over and play housekeeper. Looks like an empty."
Castig: "Well I'm sure it is now since it fell from the stands onto the warning track..."
On field delay?
Don's afraid Don's afraid Don's afraid, afraid, of a ghooooost
I know! It was like he saw a ghost in the middle of the call. • Pat Burrell moment?

It was the road you take to and fro from the Reno airport....
pitching change?
not yet.
apparently not - mmmmmm....
Pushing it?
season high of 119. that should be it.
jeemer and bot, i assume.
Didn't push it TOO far anyway.
Nice work by the ace tonight.
I believe I foresaw a return to form.
Hope it continues.

I'll say Pedro and Bot
Nicely done.
He's at 119 pitches...I somehow doubt he'll be out for the 8th.
Then again, I thought he would be done after 5.

That ab with Branyan bugged the shit out of me, he threw to first like 6 times......
Only 5 times. :>)
According to MLB.com, you get bay out by pitching low and inside otherwise he will kill you (.222 against miguel)
picky picky
If we get to a four-run lead I'm betting Bard and Saito.
low and in--DP
This area is very beautiful but in order to get down you have to go down this hill!
And oh yeah. That's in Canada! New Denmark, NB.
Not sure Bay was out.

Yeah , and it was Beltre on 1st, where the fuck was he goin
I very much doubt we'd see Bard in back to back games.
So imagine an icy road going down that hill with that sharp turn at the bottom. White knuckles indeed. The amazing thing is the speed limit down that hill is 70 km/h!
pedro up with jeemer

and that is Bay's first this year....
looked like jeemer coming in.
Well that inning sucked
2nd, sorry he has 2 tonight
Okajima reclaims his spot in the 8th, kind of.
you win
Well, looks like Beckett has straightened out his problems, now if only Lester could solve his problems this rotation would start to look pretty good.
any celts fans?
just found a video of a doc rivers interview from today or yesterday, complete with an auto-generated transcript which "may not be 100% accurate"
i guess not:
We've survived other -- in this year's would -- struggling you know even the brazen amid -- throughout this tremendous value. Force is going to makes us tomorrow I do yoga but before Batman. -- can guarantee we and I can guarantee that they'll make shots tomorrow. Not a dog -- this.
they have that on Boston.com and possibly the eei site--those video transcripts--they're never even close. I don't understand why they do it. It's pointless--except for comedy purposes.
hey papa sime, now that you're back, do you know the Cock Block in Somerville?
Jere -- nope?? what is that?
sorry for the identity swap.
papa sime is way cooler ay?
any sign of bot?
could pedro have the 9th?
Okay, the Cock Block. In Magoun Square, steps from where I lived, on one block was Woody's Liquors, Wang's Chinese food, and Pini's Pizza!
And we'd never made the connection, until we were in a store in NYC (the late Kim's Video), and the guy behind the counter saw my gf's address on her ID, and said, "oh you're from Somerville? You know the Cock Block?" And he explained it and we were like Oh yeah...
I kept reading that as Papa Slime. Haha.
Pedro time!
I think Tito's just gettin through this, and then Pap will go in the 9th.
Calling Dr. Glove!
yeah Lowell!!! ANd Don with his new Lowell-play-only excitement again! Trying to impress Roberts!
The Good Doctor is not afraid to get dirty to find the cure!
"Calling Dr. Glove!"
Take it to the bank!
hahaaha that is awesome!
I didnt realize that either - i cant wait to tell my buddy he will love that.
speaking of all that- where was your favorite slice from - and chinese food?
Calling Dr. Glove!"
Take it to the bank!
I love it when things come full circle.
Those of you watching NESN.... There is always THAT GUY doing some crazy dance at a ballgame isn't there? And NESN always has to show them.
Trading FUNIX was a great move
I didn't realize Velazquez was in there - all I saw was the 51 on the back of his uni and had a very quick thought of... Sexy Lips???!
Yeah Gil made that great try on Ichiro's grounder, but he barely beat it out.
there's bot!
"could pedro have the 9th?"
Only if we score enough runs to make this not a save situation.
good thing the runner was going there
Boston-area pizza: a whole different world. I'm used to the CT/NY way of going into a place and getting a slice. In Boston it seems that's rare--you buy a whole pie...at a place with a sign that says PIZZA SUBS in front. And it never tastes that great. The place that had the eggplant parm pizza was pretty good though. That may have even been Woody's, but I can't even remember.
Personally I like the deep dish pizza. Used to be a place in Tulsa, My PI, loved there pizza

SUBS
Jere , I assume you always used to call those grinders..
Obie and Castig are making lots of fun of Don about how he won't stop talking about catching a foul ball.
"Carries a little DVD player with him, watches the video on the plane... when he's not eating."
"Yeah, all of five minutes..."
never really found great Chinese food either, but there's a pretty good sushi place in Davis Sq. I'm sure you can get much better Boston-area opinions from people here on a day game. I was only there 1.5 yrs.
all I saw was the 51 on the back of his uni and had a very quick thought of... Sexy Lips???!
UPI will probably have a story about Taverez replacing Lugo at short.
shit man i dont know if it is 'typical' pizza-eating behaviour around here but you certainly can go in and grab a slice and they definitely dont look at you like its weird.
I also am of the slice from CT ilk and therefore am on a mission to find a comparable slice somewhere in da ville.
so far Mamma Lisa's - which is near that SUBS joint on Broadway (LEONS) is the spot - but Pini's is good too....
alright i am out - feeding my 3 week old baby girl some of that authentic milk-inna-bottle and then bed.
c`mon BOT!
Bot time

Chinese food is crap everywhere now, they all by from the place, and it all sucks....
0-3 tonight with RISP, snuffer time
we found good dim sum in boston, but i could not tell you where.
Speaking of Chinese, I went to Kowloon tonight, which is this extravaganza of a chinese restaurant in Saugus, MA... Unfortunately we went there on lots of people's graduation and prom nights. But it was still lots of fun, and a TON of food.
And then of course, since I have a special relationship with food, I wanted to try Qdoba, which is a mexican place just up the road. So after I ate a ton of Chinese food I bought a burrito that a friend of mine described as being the size of a small baby.
Ha, I'm getting my cocks mixed up, I said Woody's when I meant Pini's. Next thing you know Dong's Hardware will open up there.
Yeah, I was able to get slices, but the places up there just aren't set up for it. It does seem atypical to do it that way, from what I saw.
Ha. Dong's Hardware.

But obviously your realtonship with your colon is on the rocks..
There's an episode of a british car show named Top Gear where they go to Vietnam and are given money to buy a car and meet up for a set of challenges. They were each given 50 million dong.
Could only afford motorcycles with their dong.
9C, actually I used to have problems like that and then discovered I wasn't eating enough fiber.
1 out left..
