Red Sox - 204 100 002 - 9 12 1 Yankees - 001 020 001 - 4 7 0Xander Bogaerts had four hits: two singles, double, home run. Daniel Nava hit a three-run bomb. Mookie Betts also homered, and singled twice. Yoenis Cespedes singled, doubled and tripled.
I will be signing copies of Don't Let Us Win Tonight at Professor Thom's, a Red Sox bar in Manhattan, this evening at 7 PM, during the Red Sox/Yankees game. If you are in the area, come over to 219 Second Avenue (between 13th/14th Streets) and say Hello. And take home a signed hard cover for only $20 (while supplies last).

When was the last time these 2 clubs played baseball in September that was meaningless to both teams?
It happens more often than you might think.

Maybe it should be: when was the last time these two teams played baseball in September and both were likely to miss the postseason regardless of the results?
Once the Red Sox lose one more game, the Win-Loss Contest will be officially Jared T's win.
Had game on radio tonight, they came back from a commercial, and Dave O'Brien says, "we're back a little late, but trust me, you didn't miss much, it's 1 and 2 on Bogaerts." I don't even think NESN has ever missed THREE pitches!
W-L contest has to be exact, so no winner this year.

Jared T still has a chance if the Sox finish 21-3... hey, it could happen
And, as Charlie Brown famously said, I could also flap my arms and fly to the moon.
