Lots of strange conversation here---about apes??

On the topic at the end, re kids with hyphenated names---my two daughters have hyphenated names (my last name and Harvey's last name). My older daughter dropped BOTH when she got married two years ago and took her husband's name. (Loud sigh.) She claimed that she would have hyphenated if she didn't already have a hyphenated name. Yeah, right.

She did once date a guy with a hyphenated name, and many people teased them about having a four part last name. That one didn't last, though not because of the name issue.

The younger daughter says she, too, is not likely to keep a hyphenated last name.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15720293202890878993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730822.post-90425174014605249112008-07-09T03:58:00.000-07:002008-07-09T03:58:00.000-07:00I say people should just do whatever the hell they...I say people should just do whatever the hell they want.

Yes, they should!

But very often what people think they want is heavily influenced by tradition, stigma and the need to conform.
