I knew the curse premise would be considered a stretch to many and I know Cubs fans will argue their case for longterm heartbreak (though the Cubbies have not lost nearly as many "close" ones), but seeing the book as an homage to a great ballpark and a storied ball club in this centennial year is one effect I aimed for. I thank you for that insight, as well as the others.

And I thank you for your overall good work on this site. It is my favorite among the Sox blogs and one I checked (almost) daily for further insights during the 2011 season, especially September, as I finalized the draft for Fenway Fever.

Please let me know if I can help you out in any way. In the meantime, I wish you much Soxcess!

All my best,

John Ritterjhrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09093849003307416542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730822.post-59121156089957699832012-03-20T08:31:50.640-07:002012-03-20T08:31:50.640-07:00Pierce is pro-Manny, and this is a sympathetic por...Pierce is pro-Manny, and this is a sympathetic portrait, and still level-headed. Ramirez has fucked up severally times, blown a few second chances, but he's also one of the most talented and hard-working hitters any of us will ever see. And so his story continues ... crafted (equally?) by Manny himself and the media that watches him.

(However, Pierce is wrong in claiming the local media will discuss chickenandbeer until 2016; more like 2116).allanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04673233312198832937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730822.post-26842160008567722772012-03-19T16:58:22.777-07:002012-03-19T16:58:22.777-07:00Charles P.
