Good: In his last four starts, Matsuzaka has allowed a total of five runs.
Bad: His teammates have scored only four runs in those four games.
Redsox.com:
On Friday, in just his fifth Major League start, [LHP] Feierabend was roughed up by the Reds, allowing nine earned runs on six hits in 2.2 innings of work, nearly doubling his ERA. He struggled with his command throughout the contest, walking five and yielding two homers. The 21-year-old earned his first big-league win on June 3, allowing four earned runs in 7.1 innings against the Rangers.

It would be SO great to wing back home to Boston tonight after a late afternoon victory at winless Safeco. I hope your summer is great...wow, it is hot, and humid, with jungle-like dew points here in the northeast USA. ! Stay well.
Hopefully, we didn't use up all our runs trying to play catch up last night.
The decline of Julio Lugo [stats]’s batting average has been as steep as it has been alarming.
Last night, the brakes were put on.
Lugo was out of the starting lineup against the Mariners, and although he might play this afternoon, there appears a reasonable chance that Alex Cora [stats] will see more time in the starting lineup than ever in the coming days.
“He’s having such a tough time. I’m trying to do what’s right,” manager Terry Francona said before last night’s game. “I’ve got to tell you, that’s not the decision all the time - short term, long term, middle term. Alex Cora got to play a little bit for (Dustin) Pedroia earlier in the season when Pedroia was struggling. Now Lugo’s having a tough time. I guess when you look at it, it’s a good thing we have Cora when things like this do happen.”
Lugo has a .191 batting average and has not had a hit in his past 29 at-bats (a single on June 14).
Without saying so, Francona sounded as if he had spoken with Lugo about not running to first base on a pop-up Monday.

One of these days, you've got to turn on blockquotes in the permissible html options.
Lugo is in. Drew sits in favor of Pena against another lefty.
phrenile, is that something i can do or are you talking out loud to blogger?
...
Tito on Schilling: "He can throw now, but I think they want him to reach certain levels with testing."
Amalie Benjamin says Schilling will likely be out through the All-Star break, but should be back after it's over.

Temps in the mid 90s with high humidity in North Carolina as well. In other words...typical summer day.
At least the NE is supposed to get big rains and some cooler temperatures. Our cooler weather is supposed to be 93 instead of 94 degrees.

The individual blogger has no control over that.
Yup, we got the heatwave up in Canada as well...If it keeps up like this my igloo may start to melt!
roll the dice
Daisuke is rolling, and here comes Lugo's first hit in forever (I hope, I hope).
good stroke for lugo there. Woulda been a hit off the wall in Fenway.
ichiro is not gonna get to this one... oh yes he is. And these are their announcers
oooh, so close to being 3 - 0.
I thought I saw some paint come off that pole. Next time around the Sox will fuck this guy up with all that wood they put on the ball this inning.
Nice view of the sound, I miss going to Seattle for games.
oh shit crisp hurt his hand
My life is over.
I want some manny being merlot
Wokka Wokka Wokka what was that?
I switched my audio to my XM radio as these announcers are pretty close to listening to my two year old daughter try to call a game.
10 pitch at bat for Lugo leads to a walk! Thats two decent AB's today.
Coco!!!
Crap!
This business of waiting for a team's supposedly weaker bull pen is making me nervous.
Dice simply needs support!
How do you say Wakefield in Japanese?
How do you say "DFA Lugo" in Titoese?
Bot saves the 9th and its off to the 10th!!!!
this is hard
Lugo could've done that.
I don't have sound where I'm at (plus I missed the 6-9th innings)... what are all the shots of angry Lugo about?
Lugo's 0-31. He struck out with two men on in the 8th. Cora just pinch hit for him and grounded into a DP.
Was it just that he's pissed they took him out for a pinch hitter even though he's sucked in production of late?
Understandable managerial play.

You shouldn't insult your daughter like that.
...
I think I had the mute on from the 6th or 7th inning to the end.
Pedroia was a two-time USA Baseball National Team starting shortstop.
Anyone know why he was always groomed to be a 2nd baseman..
He played 74 games as a shortstop last year in Pawtucket...
It would have made sense to just keep Loretta and let Pedroia play ss...
I had Lasik surgery for my hindsight in March.
Theo has some fixin to do and quick
