We lost a heartbreaker in Seattle as Matsuzaka pitched extremely well yet again (8-3-1-1-8, 113), but that doesn't mean we can't laugh at Fat Billy's struggles:
We were swept in the three-game series by the Mariners, but the Yankees made up no ground; they've now lost four straight. They are 11 GB in third place, while the Blue Jays are 9 GB in second.
Out in Queens, the Mets lead the NL East by 3.5.
And it looks like the heat wave finally broke. Life is good.

The Fat Billy Experience is going exactly as I expecte/hoped.

(The Fat Billy Experience -- I liked their early stuff.)
I flew out for the three game series in Seattle. The first game was painful, but #2 and #3 were great, tense, exciting...until the very end of both.
I really expected us to win both. Until we didn't. If we hadn't of spotted the Mariners four runs on Tuesday, we would have been in a lot better shape. Dice-K was masterful, though. Offense just couldn't get going. Eh, whatever, still 11 games up. And that was the end of a long road trip.
Headed home to feast on Texas and TB now, so life is good.
Chief, what a drag to make a road trip and get swept. I admire your perspective. (I share it, but I didn't fly out to Seattle for the games. In fact I slept through most of them.)
Toronto lost to Minnesota this afternoon, so they're back 9 1/2.
Baltimore tries to sweep the MFYs tonight at 7pm EDT.
You've got to be a pretty shitty pitcher to give up a homerun to Andy Phillips.
At least Wang's shittier.
Suspended by rain with the MFYs up 8-6 in the 8th. They'll have to finish it later in the season during an already grueling schedule.
That heat/humidish icky wave is gone! And now.....now it's time for our Sox to string together some wins. Have a great weekend! And a great holiday...Peter........always!
And Phrenile, I think that NY/ Oriole game will be resumed on July 17....or close! A log-waited-for Oriole sweep? I so hope.
"Long-waited for O's sweep," I meant.
