If you are worried about Lester starting -- though at this point, why are you worried about anything -- consider that Colorado is pinning its post-season hopes on a guy who has not pitched in a game since August 10.

I was about to post three words, but Jeff beat me to it.
I hope by now everyone knows there is nothing to worry about. 27 outs to go!
I, too, immediately thought of Alfred E. Neuman.
It's a good (if not yet entirely comfortable feeling).
2004: WWWLLLWWWWWWWW
2007: WWWWLLLWWWWWW_
Let's complete the pattern.
Last night was the first time in World Series history that a team had two rookies batting 1-2.
Last night was awesome. I'll have the laptop out tonight for Game 4. From LBJ's first at-bat to ending the night with the Papel-Jig, can't wait!
Love the smell of C-Day in the morning! (fuck it, it's my morning! just woke up)
Thank goodness we get a US Fox feed from Buffalo.
Because in about 20 seconds after the final out, Rogers Sportsnet would go straight to hockey highlights.
The way things are going, anyone else fancy a Jon Lester shutout?
Could Ellsbury actualy win a World Series MVP and still be eligible for the Rookie of the Year award next year?
He has:
.417 avg - 2nd behind Drew
.500 OBP - 3rd behind Drew and Lugo; tied with Lowell
.667 SLG - leads team
5 hits - tied for the team lead
3 doubles - tied for the team lead
3 runs - 1 behind Tiz and Lowell
3 RBI - 1 behind Pedroia and Tek
2 BB - 1 behind Yook, Lowell, Lugo
1 stolen base - tied for team lead with Lowell (!)
a big game tonight -- and not letting beckett pitch again -- might do it.

Really? They're open up my way (from Hamilton up to the tri-cities)
Hi guys
My ego is shattered! My sense of self-worth decimated! I am not needed.
(how DO you denote toungue-in-cheek on a text site?)
I had on the wrong hat! I opened the bottle before double digits! And yet they WON! WITHOUT MY HELP!
I had started on the wine with dinner earlier, so I figured there was no need to wait on that, although I did let the glass sit empty until we scored our 1st run.
I didn't realize I had left the white Fenway Park hat, which I switched to after LCS4, in the truck until Bob said -"where's the white hat?" I started to go get it immediately but it was pouring rain here, my truck is half way across the yard, and we were just getting started on the big 3rd inning.
So I waited. I did start to go get it after the New Year's home run, but it was an awful tense moment to leave the action. And by the time Oki got out of it, the aforementioned bottle was making me feel like just sitting and smiling...and chatting :)
Oh, wait! The shirt! That's it! We didn't score till after I changed shirts at the end of the 2nd inning! That's actually when Bob asked me about the hat!
My life has been validated.......
L said they are closed, so ....
Whoever thought we'd see two world series championships in four years -- and they would (likely) both be sweeps?!?!?!?
Ells for MVP?
I think you're last line might be the key. If Beckett has to seal the deal tomorrow, which he would if necessary, I think he gets it.
If we win tonight and LBJ keeps up the pace, barring some monster heroics from another spot, who knows? It could happen.
I know they used to be...but that was before they realized they could make a buck on the Lord's day :P
Cap'n - from last night
"We have to continue to stay focused," catcher Jason Varitek said. "We have to try and outplay our opponent."
Ian Browne -
"Keep in mind that Varitek uttered that precise statement after Game 4 of the ALCS, when the Red Sox were in a 3-1 hole and their season was on the brink. It is that tunnel vision -- as much as anything -- that has gotten the Red Sox to this point."
Nice
If we win tonight and LBJ keeps up the pace, barring some monster heroics from another spot, who knows? It could happen.
I don't see Ellsbury being named MVP unless he was THE SHOW. They'll feel they need to give it to a veteran (or Pedroia)... Look at Manny's stats in 2004 and he was named MVP. Judging from his World Series performance, does it make sense, Manny being named MVP?
I have a feeling there will be co-MVPs this year. Unless, of course, Beckett gets another start tomorrow.
We're in the best position right now, because even if the Sox lose today, Beckett goes tomorrow and can go 5-0 this postseason.
Who other than the Rookies can really be considered for MVP. Beckett was not an old Vet when he won the MVP. Who picks the MVP anyways? The sportswriters are all a flutter over the rookies. The way all the past steroids rumors are flying around baseball it would probably be beneficial for a rookie to get the MVP especially when they actually deserve it. I say so far it is a Co-MVP Pedroia and Ellsbury.
If Drew or Lowell has a monster game and Ellsbury has a quiet one, I could see one of those guys getting MVP. Or Ortizzle, if he has a huge game.
The MVP discussion is interesting. All good points that were made. It will be hard to deny Beckett if he gets another start and is equally as good, but otherwise, it seems to be Ellsbury as much as anyone else. But I didn't think of the co-MVP idea...LBJ/Dustin (who pounded the first nail)?
yeah, i could def. see lowell getting it if he has a huge game. other than that, i think ellsbury/pedroia would be great.
look at us! game 4 of the world series and our discussion is debating whose the best MVP candidate! at this point, it would take a lot to make even the yookiest of people sweat!
yeah. i hope lowell gets it. thats just me.
Useless, altho interesting fact -
Other than Seth Smith, who has 2 hits in 2 pinch-hit appearances, only 1 Col. batter has a higher W-S average than Dice-K !
Manny:
"You don't want to eat your cake before your birthday. We have to win one more. It feels great, but you have to win four games."
look at us! game 4 of the world series and our discussion is debating whose the best MVP candidate! at this point, it would take a lot to make even the yookiest of people sweat!
LOL
Brilliant.
Some LCBOs are open in our area on Sunday, some are closed. But we have zero time between work and game - barely enough time to pour a glass of wine and turn on the TV! So the 'pagne (rhymes with gagne?) is already chillin'.
FY/LBJ co-MVPs sounds good to me! The youth movement. I don't think Beckett will win it, even if he pitches another game. He's already got his award, and we're cruising in this thing, his wins loom less large, if such a thing can be.
(how DO you denote toungue-in-cheek on a text site?)
;-)
like that
Me no want to eat cake before anyone's birthday, but looking forward to lots of cake!!!
Fun facts:
Pedroia has tied CI's 1996 record for the most postseason runs scored by a rookie (12). Dear FY: *Please* score at least once tonight.
Ellsbury are Arizona's Matt Williams are the only players with two doubles in the same inning in a World Series. Williams hit his in 2001 WS 6 against the Yankees.
The only other pairs of rookies to hit back-to-back in a lineup were:
Timo Perez (7th) and Jay Payton (8th) for the Mets in Game Five of the 2000 WS.
Jack Sheehan (2nd) and Bernie Neis (3rd) for Brooklyn in Game Six of the 1920 WS.
Drew will get the MVP after he goes 3-5 with a couple of dongs tonight. Just like in 2004 when the writers gave it to Manny, they are looking for the story.
In 2004 it was redemption, almost traded away to WS MVP.
In 2007 it is validation - reviled and nanciedize all year ON FIRE!!! proves his value.
Got the bubbly chilled and fully expect to be reaking it open around 12:30 tonight!!!!
Just like in 2004 when the writers gave it to Manny, they are looking for the story.
I think if they're looking for that kind of award, it would go to Lowell.
The trusty veteran on field and in clubhouse, over-performing beyond expectations, loved by all.
He has not been the MVP of the WS, but if it's mroe of a season achievement award, Lowell is the obvious choice, IMO.
I like the optimism, but you're scaring me a little ... it's not even two weeks since our boys ruined someone else's 3-1 party plans. Manny's right ...
I like the optimism, but you're scaring me a little ...
Colorado could come back and win four in a row, I suppose. It could happen.
But what are Boston's chances of winning the series?
Cool Standings says 96.8%. BP says 96.4%.
I haven't popped any corks yet, but there is plenty of reason to be happy about the immediate future.
We may not win tonight, but I believe we will win the series.
Who decides the MVP for a CS or WS on the spot? Are there certain writers and how much opportunity do they have to discuss it beforehand?

Who decides the MVP for a CS or WS on the spot? Are there certain writers and how much opportunity do they have to discuss it beforehand?
The writers vote on it during the final game.
Tonight will be a night to enjoy baseball. Whether the Red Sox win or lose. And I keep saying this - if they lose, you go back out there Monday night with Josh Beckett and you go for it then.
That's what sitting pretty is all about! The Red Sox are very good at putting the losses behind them quickly and focusing on the next game.
In the channeling L-girl department:
How anxious was Henry when the Rockies drew to within 6-5?
"Very," Henry said. "I was sitting next to Marie Epstein [Theo's wife]. She was tranquil, but she was the only one. We felt very stressful."
"unseasonably warm autumn afternoon"
1. Kazuo Matsui, 2B
2. Troy Tulowitzki, SS
3. Matt Holliday, LF
4. Todd Helton, 1B
5. Garrett Atkins, 3B
6. Ryan Spilborghs, CF
7. Brad Hawpe, RF
8. Yorvit Torrealba, C
9. Aaron Cook, RHP
John, listen to your left fielder. He is a very wise man.
Tranquilo.
Red Sox lose WS... only on Fox.
Did you all notice how the Sox did not retaliate against that young guy pitching game 2 who hit Drew and threw at the heads of Pedroia and Lugo? All class...
I was lurking at a Rockies blog last night and a commenter called the Sox pitchers slimy after that pitch got away from Dice.
Say what? You see what you want to see though. Rockies fans are understandably frustrated with their team, but there was a lot of bitterness and vitriol.
It didn't diminish my enjoyment of the win, of course.
One other funny thing was that several commenters were disdainful about the white towels, "did we learn nothing from the Cleveland losses?"
So, here I am watching Sox Classics on NESN - 2004 LAD vs Bos its 1-1 bottom of the ninth and Damon is at third and Bellhorn at second with Papi coming up to bat. Hmmm, I wonder what happens. ;) (another MBM moment)
Of course to get myself in a proper mood for the 2nd (look theres gagne in the Pen) WS win in 4 years I decided to pull out my favorite Boston area composer. I really just love his symphony #60.
Of course if I really want to get fired up I would problably be listening to this oldie but goodie 666 by Aphrodites Child (Vangelis Papathanassiou), but it really is time to take MBM's words to heart, Tranquilo
did we learn nothing from the Cleveland losses?"
Hey, if they knew enough to follow Joy Nation they would have known what we felt. Schmucks
If you're bored some day, try taking a look at all the other MLB team blogs and seeing their open threads on the World Series. It's quite interesting.
Red Sox lose WS... only on Fox.
Wow. I'm not even gonna bother reading past the first couple lines in that piece of shit. If it was an actual piece of paper, it would serve a good use as TP.
Red Sox lose WS... only on Fox.
Actually I found it entertaining, its always good to read fantasy!!!
Remy - "Red Sox have just out classed the Rockie".
Rice - "Because of the good pitching". (in response to no answer for the Rockies).
Ah, I feel so good and mellow that even Jimmy Rice being on the Pre-game and Post games aren't even affecting me!!!
Tom Caron - there might be 5 or even 1/2 dozen teams in the AL better than the Rockies.
In other words the trio are just saying the Rockies suck bilge water.
Tranquilo!!
I think the fantasy article is more of a revenue and ratings fantasy than a yearning for a great, nail-biting WS. After all, it was found on the Fox site.
Heh, with all my worrying about finding a place to watch the game in Cincinnati, it never occured to me that I'll be staying at a hotel. It's the US... hotels have TVs.
And you know what that means: it means I can thread tonight, while the Sox are clinching!
I was gonna write something about who the WS MVP will be, since there's no clear front runner (everybody's been so good), but I see you already covered that.
OK, one hour and 27 outs to go.
CHB of the Bot - "The Michael Flately Riverdance thing, the goggles, yeah hes kinda of became a cult hero"
As the Sox try to Sweep the Rox!!!
Other Dayn Perry BS -
after Game 2
Matsuzaka posted a 7.62 ERA for the month of September, he's toting around a 5.65 ERA this postseason, and he has only one quality start since August. Things certainly don't figure to get any better for him in Coors Field.
mmmmm..... wonder how that prediction worked out.
In the interest of fair reporting - (I know, something FOX is unfamiliar with)
he did end that article saying " It's not a matter of if, but rather when, the Red Sox win this series
Leaving work, will be back around 8.
chorus in the song i'm listening to:
But we had one foot on the gas and one foot in the grave
Everyone was laughing when we said we had it made
Everyone was laughing when we said we had it made - back in those days of the double digits lead. Well I'm SO FUCKING SORRY that I ENJOYED IT because my ENJOYMENT of said lead had NO BEARING on the team's performance! You wanna cringe at the thought of blowing it, fine, be an idiot. You wanna go through life thinking about the worst possible circumstances during the best times? Missing all opportunities to live in the moment, be happy and ENJOY the good times, then fine. Be a miserable prick your whole life. I'll enjoy it when my team does well, I'll cry about them shitting up a big lead if or when they DO IT. But you know what, these boys DIDNT EVER DO IT. No matter what McMoron or any of the mediots say. They lead the WHOLE SEASON, yeah, the lead at the end was less than it was during the year - but that was to be expected! And it's not like they "blew it" - they strategically used it (thanks to redsock for this part btw) to rest key cogs that have been instrumental in this run to the world series!!!
And now, with 9 innings separating the red sox from destiny - I would like to take this opportunity to laugh in the faces of all the pessimists who pissed away a fucking amazing summer in the sun, worrying about failure. Never happy until it's all said and done. Well, you know what, I was happy all fucking season, and when it is all said and done, I'll be just has happy as you! Probably happier because I've been riding this wave of happiness all season! That like, puts my happiness zen at volumes you couldn't IMAGINE! HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!
[/pregame rant]
(Oh and if you couldn't tell, my girlfriend clearly just went back home lol...)
Henry telling Tina that of the three principals he probably is the least nervous!!!
LOL, if he is the least nervous and we are telling him to heed MHMBM, how much of a basket case are the others?
Tranquilo!
Awww :( a few minutes late with that big comment, isn't gonna go thru for a bit now...
Well I'm gonna be with my dad watching this one, so blog posts might come much later. Go Sox.
TC and Remy - MVP candidates - Bot, LBJ, F*** Yeah and ON FIRE!!!! assuming the series ends tonight. If 5 is necessary then add The Dominator (aka commander kick ass of the F*** yeah brigade).
Tranquilo!!!
Well Tina's majic didn't really work last night (unless you count those two defensive plays), will it work tonight?
Timlin is the interviewee tonight!!
If Pap gets the save in a close one tonight the MVP will be his....
Hi! We're here! I'm bouncing off the walls!
I should be whipped and exhausted, but I was zooming all day. I wonder why????
Oh, wow, first time watching the Fox pregame show, and I'm not impressed. Why do they talk like that? The whole fast talking, half-shouting, looking at the camera way too intently thing- why?
And yeah, fucking melodrama. Just show the fucking game, and spare us. We know how dramatic a game is without the fast-paced, U2-ed, picture-trembling highlights interspersed with close ups of the players looking ultra serious. Bleh.
[/pregame rant]
I like Tim.
I'm just gonna say it--I love Trisha Yearwood.

This is what Red Sox fans used to sound like to me. Clinging to any perception of unfairness, blowing it out of proportion, insisting they were robbed... all that frustration, it was very understandable.
Poof! All gone now. :)
Someone else's turn.
FINISH HIM!!!!!
6 nights of 2004 shirt and jammies and JD shots has resulted in 6 wins.
7th round of shots down the hatch!!!
I like Tim.
But will he be funny tonight? Has he got the spinach warmed up?
BH - So, if they win tonight the Happy Dance yells end right?
s1c - Well, for a little while (big s/e grin).
The Rockies are Cooked!
Tim, I love your rant, not least because it's EXACTLY what I've been saying all season long. You got it, baby! Live, live NOW, enjoy, enjoy every moment!! If there are tears, we'll cry them when we get there, and we'll live that moment too. Meanwhile we have lived and loved every moment!
THANKS TIM
I have seen the future.
It looks a lot like this.
We should be in great shape to win this, I don't think a team has ever come back from an 0-3 deficit. I might be wrong, hopefully the trusty, reliable, funny announcers will let me know if any team has overcome such a deficit.
Don't fuck with the spinach, yo.
If Pap gets the save in a close one tonight the MVP will be his....
Yeah, I was thinking that too. Maybe a Jeemer/Bot co-mvp.
One more time:
FLICK
THE
SWITCH!
It's cool to see Ofer's impressions of Fox pre-game, coming in cold. Why indeed?
That's how I feel whenever I overhear some sports-talk radio by mistake. "Why are they shouting?"
Hey its the mayor from Roxanne!!!!
It is ON!!!!!
Fred Willard, Roxanne? Fred Willard, star of all the Christopher Guest mockumentaries.
dooo dooo dooo doooooooo
Fred willard, awesome.
And L, I think I've really embodied and started to believe that attitude towards life recently, I'm sure that "hanging out" here has had quite a bit to do with that (along with me buying recyclable grocery bags/generally moving away from my "hard right-wing" views of high-school...but i think that also comes with being on my own, university, living a real life, etc..)
I could go on, but enough of this philosophical life bullshit! Time to pound my shot of Red Label and watch some fucking baseball!
Aww thats just great, L. Now I've gotta put up with the do do do dooos on here too!
I love the Snoopy happy dance!
Hey, where's Amy? Where's Diet Coke?
Well, I've tried my hardest to get a good set up to record the pre-game and the post-game for the local WRKO broadcast, but since ESPN has a stranglehold on the affiliate stations, I have to try and get this audio from WRKO itself.
I am in southern Maine. WRKO is in Boston, and it's not a very powerful AM station. So what I've done is put my stereo outside with an AM antenna I recently made. This is as good as it'll get. All of the other audio from my Playoff Package is from FM stations or the internet.
So we'll see how it goes.
Evening all. Not on for long.
Yeah, in Israel we have a Europeanized version of Foxsports and ESPN, but the pregame there is usually 2-minutes. Plus, we barely get any sponsorships.
As for commercials- there are like 5 commercials that keep circulating for years and years, and every commercial break is exactly the same. All in all, advantage Israel.
Tim, very cool. It's an attitude worth pursuing.
Key to the game for the Rockies? Winning.
The power of such simplicity. Thanks Tim.
And Thanks MVP!!!
THAT'S MY BOY!!!!
Great keys to the game again.
Boston's key to winning the game:
Win and wrap things up
Colorado's key to winning the game:
Desperate times, so win.
LBJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Making his case for MVP!!!! WAY TO LEAD IT OFF
MVP?
WS MVP!
Fred Willard, Roxanne? Fred Willard, star of all the Christopher Guest mockumentaries.
Yeah but he was great in Roxanne.
LBJ!!!!!
god is he good.
LYNDON!
double
So is Ellsbury going to be Junior Doubles?
Stop bunting, Pedroia.
Co-MVP?
s1c, I love that movie. I confess I was thinking of the TV show Rosanne! D'oh!
infield in?
Game.
TIZZLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TY, GOD!!!!!
Well, that was fast
Here we go!!!!!
Jump on them early and jump on them often.
Papi!!!!!
Sutcliffe droning on. We are blessed.
Flo!
Lord L, nice to see you. I hope you've got a lot of coffee handy. Or drugs.
Dear MHMBM,
We really haven't noticed much from you in this series. Do you think you can help to wrap this up by giving us the MUMMY?
Thanx,
RSN
Joy Nation
Lord Lynch - Was looking for you on TV at the game, sorry about the dolphins (not).
Hope you had fun!
Been to Wembley today to watch Dolphins v Giants.
So no pre-game nap.
Can't complain about one per inning.
Fragging unbelieveable. How many freaking dps is that this post season. Gawd.
What is wrong with women with dragon tattoos?
starting the pickett fence?
Lord Lynch - Was looking for you on TV at the game, sorry about the dolphins (not).
Caught a bit of that one, also caught a bit of the awful Pats game. Can you believe that TD they allowed in the 4th?! BRUTAL! Thats what happens when Brady gets benched!!!!!
[and thus ends off-topic discussion for this game until we get a sizeable lead...also it was during a commercial so im exempt]
hahaha athletic supporter!
You lot NEARLY blew the 6-0 lead last night.
Off-topic is great, but football is not!!!
(ps that was not a lecture!)
Red Sox get the awesome legend that is Fred Willard, and the Rockies have to suffer through the unfunniness of Brad Garrett. I think that tells you everything you need to know.
Ha ha, s1c complaining about dps.
My Dad, not a baseball fan, always used to sit me down, and ask me... "Son, are Oakland fans called Athletic Supporters?"
Lord, it's all part of the "tease 'em, then step on their throats" strategy.
We did it to the MFY during the season.
We did it to the Spiders in the ALCS.
We did it to the Rox fans last night.
I wanna watch some Fernwood Tonight now. Well not NOW, but after seeing Willard...in the near future.
i am so sick sick sick sick sick sick sick (etc) of the commercials
sick sick sick
can't mute them all because they're during the game
blah blah blah blah
(ps that was not a lecture!)
For some reason whenever I think of lecture I always see some Nun standing in front of a class room pointing a ruler. Don't ask me why, am not catholic but that is what always flashes through my mind!
TT - sit your ass down!!!
It would be so nice to see Lester clinch. Poetic.
There's no crying in baseball, CI Jr.
Maybe there's a nun's outfit in a closet somewhere in your house...?
Don't answer that.
good start ladies and gents!
Yep, that is what I like to see 1-2-3 innings!!!!
Nun fantasy? tut tut.
24
i hate ci jr.
what a tosser.
Complete with ruler.
Maybe there's a nun's outfit in a closet somewhere in your house
BH is a lapsed Catholic, so to anwer that question is simple. Not a fragging chance!!!
Right, that wouldn't exactly put her in the mood. :)
Yuk. We've just had the Jeter walk off in 2001 against Arizona as part of a competition.
I feel sick.
I was at that game.
But no need to feel sick. You know how that all ended.
Why would the nun need a ruler?
Geometry?
Dear Doctor,
How about it doc? One more double to start off an inning. One more double to quiet the crowd.
Thanx,
RSN
Joy Nation
78 days of rest for Cook -- I don't think that will work.
Why would the nun need a ruler?
Dunno. Maybe she's gonna measure something.
I think that's all I'll say.
Morning all ;-)
Jon Lester looks good early on...it seems inevitable.
I'm torn though...as soon as its over thats it until April...how will I survive?
(By watching my '04 DVD Box set no doubt!)
Dear Captain,
Your Time Baby!
Thanx,
RSN
Joy Nation
Look at them in the dugout. The anticipation - and having to stay focused - must be wild.
Nuns need rulers solely for the purpose of rapping knuckles or other appendages. And, in general, we're talking about yardsticks, not your traditional 12-inch ruler. The better to reach you with, my dear.
Sadistic, huh?
Why would the nun need a ruler?
I always think of nuns with rulers as they walked around the class room rapping knuckles on all the miscreants.
(L-girl, boy are you relaxed!!!)
By watching my '04 DVD Box set no doubt!)
Give the '07 box some love too!
Erin, I wasn't thinking of real nuns. Just people playing at nunnery.
s1c, yes, perhaps too relaxed, maybe I should stfu. :)
Give the '07 box some love too!
Yes but I'll have to order that from the US; judging by last time it'll take until the middle of next year to recieve it!
Erin, I wasn't thinking of real nuns. Just people playing at nunnery.
Well, it is Halloween. :)
Oh man, my roomie just made dinner and it smells delicious.
Nothin for dinner tonight for me (well, for now at least) - I was going to make some food but ate a huge meal at like 2 and haven't been hungry (well until now, that i've had the pregame shot and am working on a beer)...haha damn, i feel like eating something disgustingly delicious. like a pizza.
To paraphrase Ralph Kramden, I guess you Rockies never met up with the Red Sox before...
so when does fox start showing the sad our season is almost over faces in the crowd?
let's get a bunch of runs and make it the 4th or so!
McC called the Rockies feeble.
We are dominant and they are feeble.
Hee hee.
OK, made it home from the airport for the top of the second. We had a delay, and I was getting quite pissed off. But I see we are ahead, that LBJ got the big hit (who drove him in? Papi?) and that most of the gang is here.
Helton, don't get too excited.
I could go for a pizza too.
Hi Amy! I was wondering where you were. Welcome home.
Hey rockies! Go! Now! The others they'll await you! And every single one among the lot of you will have your turn!
/another musical interlude
lets hope atkins sees a diet of carb-filled pitches.
Thanks, Laura. How could I possible not be here for what may the biggest and (sadly) last game of the season?
M-FER! I WANT SOME FIRST BASE!
lyndon doubled down the lf line, went to third on fy's grounder and -- with the infield in -- scored on tiz's single to right. mbm then gidp.
...
SCOOP TIZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even Fox conceding that was a good pick by Ortiz.
Gold Glove Tizzle, with a little razzle dazzle...
Papi with the leather!
Wait I thought Papi couldn't play first!!!
Give the '07 box some love too!
But you have to watch something until it comes out!!
"So much for the guy that can't play first base"
You mean "So much for the illusion that we fucking made up about the 'guy that can't play first base' "
Fucking jerkasses!
What will Fox do now that literally every one of their big stories about this series has been proven wrong?
Ortiz can't play first? Please.
Wow, Fox did something right: that graphic with the field comparison was pretty cool.
Papi with the leather!
Thanks for the update. Sounds a lot like the first inning last night except we scored a run!
There it is - the biiiig outfield - we're doomed.
Damn our outfielders are screwed, and Ortiz can't play defense either!
We are SO doomed.
What will Fox do now that literally every one of their big stories about this series has been proven wrong?
Start over with the first story and go thru the list again -- just like its "news" dept.
Well, just me and B-fly watching this one. BH gone to bed with the cold, how do I know, I come back from the kitchen with my hard lemonade and the dog is on the couch!
One more here Jon, demoralize them.
Believe me Fox sufferers. Sutcliffe is an abomination as you know, and his commentary sucks plenty of dingle dangle, I can tell you... International feed and no Fox so I can laugh at Joe Cluck and Tim Irrelevant.
Keyhole strike zone?
Damn you, huge outfield! Making us walk guys!
Where was that pitch you fragging UMP?
We are SO doomed.
Plus the Rockies have won like 35 of their last 20 games!!!1!11!!
Lord, I had to watch the international feed last night...it was sickening to watch/listen.
Is it true that the Rockies catcher threw his pitchers under the bus?
hey mcmoron, maybe lester is throwing a gyroball.
I never thought I'd say this, but given the choices, I'm glad we have Fox.
Sutcliffe is unbearable.
Is it true that the Rockies catcher threw his pitchers under the bus?
not sure what the story is at all -- though i have been wanting to find out where that expression first came from.
ah ha.
Lester comin to bat - let's see a fuckin dong!
redsock - I first heard it used by Yankees fans over a Mussina rant.
The catcher said their pitchers had not adjusted. Sutcliffe was apoplectic, in his own, stammering, stuttering way, before lopping out his tongue and lapping at Varitek's ample persona....
Hmmm, a lead off double and he doesn't score. Yep, that biiiiiiigggggg outfield is really hurting the Sox with their suspect defense of MHMBM and Papi. Yep. Hurting all the way to the pagne (rhymes with gagne).
bwahahahahahahah
I think I'm gonna go with a grilled cheese in a bit...
but not any normal grilled cheese, lol.
I bought some sort of fresh bread earlier, as well as my "applewood smoked aged cheddar" i need to finish eating before it goes bad. hahahaha
SoSock, I posted a comment for you on the WMTC site. Not sure if you are checking there.
Tim, the grilled cheese sounds very yummy.
Hey, we're doing the Niagara wine region thing on Tuesday.
Damn, Tim, you are making me hungry. What else are you eating?
So let's see how Lester swings a bat. Dice K was quite a surprise last night...he looked quite good swinging (not like some AL pitchers who look like they never held a bat).
There it was the first reference in the game to the 0-3 comeback. Yep, I really feel like the Rox will be able to duplicate that feat.
Keep dreaming Fox.
Dice was so cool last night!
mcshithead has noticed that sox fans are sort of different after winning in 2004.
how observant.
I didn't eat anythin for dinner, ate a bunch of food around 2 pm so I wasn't hungry until post-pregame shot. Now I'm considering the grilled cheese in a couple innings.
Nice to hear them talk about 04 and the history behind it w/out using the word curse.
OK. I surrender to Mr Sandman.
I'll leave the laptop on sleep, and am sure to wake up a little later...
Get a nap, Lord. You'll want to wake up in a few hours to watch the celebration.
Niagara wine thing sounds cool, I think that's what we're doing for my b-day in june (as mentioned in a previous thread). Which places are you headed? (I've got no idea about it yet...Although I know a bunch of ontario wines, heh)
Dagnabbit another 1-2-3 inning. c'mon lester, we need another good inning from you buddy.
Oh, yeah, shuttlecock time LOL
