Doug Mirabelli is just as cocky in person as he sounds in the papers. Talking about himself as he ran off to the batting cages: "Looking real fit. I fear for the American League this season!"

This from a guy who might make history this year with a negative on-base percentage. Matt swears it's true, so Dougie's Diary may not be far removed from reality.
