Because it's the Boston sports media, there has to be at least one turd in the punch bowl and here it is. (It doesn't deserve to be in the main post.)
ReplyDeleteI watched the ceremony in bits and pieces on NESN while I was cooking dinner - was Francona ever even mentioned? I didn't see it if he was.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing. I knew he wouldn't be there, since he's currently managing a team, but it seemed as if he was being disappeared from the record. Not that a ceremony is an official record, but never even mentioning him... it's wrong.
ReplyDeleteBuckley: We do live in a forgiving society. Even in the big leagues.
ReplyDeleteBut not, apparently, among certain newspaper staff.
Mazz drops another turd:
ReplyDeleteManny Ramirez Still A Con Man
Do people here forget that Ramirez may very well have cost the Red Sox another title in 2008?
And check this out:
Globe 10.0: Did Manny have too big of a role?
Kevin Dupont and Scott Thurston debate whether Manny Ramirez had too big of a role in the celebration of the 2004 Red Sox team.
Unbelievable. (I'm not giving you the link for that one.) So desperate to draw attention for themselves rather than the 2004 celebration. Just more evidence that 2004 was the worst thing to happen for these mediots.
It's probably a given that Dennis and Callahan are going to be dropping turds all the time, but I just wanted to add to your blood pressure levels and mention that they apparently spent the entire 4 hours of their show this morning harping on what a horrible person Manny is/was. That was their entire show. In the part I listened to they were literally (in the course of showing how unbelievable Manny's claims are that he's turned his life around) comparing him to Jerry Sandusky and Aaron Hernandez. (If those guys claimed to be better people, you wouldn't believe them. So why should we believe Manny?)
ReplyDeleteD&C are nothing but a couple of trolls.
ReplyDeleteComparing Manny to Jerry Sandusky. And this is Dennis & Callahan, a popular show.
ReplyDeleteNothing to add. Just... nothing.
But then, I'm part of that foaming-at-the-mouth cult called Joy of Sox.
ReplyDeleteCHB also wrote his obligatory "Manny sucks" story for today's Globe. The head troll whom these morons worship.
ReplyDeleteBut then, I'm part of that foaming-at-the-mouth cult called Joy of Sox.
We should make T-shirts! ;-)
How is it possible to draw comparisons between Manny, Hernandez, and Sandusky?
ReplyDeleteRemind me again of the time Ramirez committed murder and raped young men; my memory is hazy.
