Bill Lee, Still Pitching At 75, Collapsed In Bullpen On Friday And Stopped Breathing, Was Resusitated With Defilbrillator

Former Socialist presidential candidate Bill Lee, still pitching at age 75, stopped breathing after collapsing in the bullpen on Friday night at Grayson Stadium, in Savannah, Georgia. Lee pitches occasionally for the Savannah Bananas.

Immediate intervention from paramedics and two shocks with a defibrillator resuscitated Lee.

The second defibrillator shock "seemed to do the trick, got the heart beating," said Bob Milie, the Town Administrator for the town of Thunderbolt, located about five miles outside of Savannah, who was at the game. "He wasn't breathing. It was very, very dire."

The Bananas play in the Coastal Plain League, a wood-bat collegiate summer league. The Bananas play home games under slightly different rules, which include no bunting (any player who attempts to bunt will be ejected because "bunting sucks"), no walks or mound vists, and foul balls caught by fans are counted as outs. There is also a two-hour time limit on games.

Bananas manager Eric Byrnes tweeted a picture of himself and Lee at Memorial Health University Medical Center on Saturday.

Lee ran for governor of Vermont in 2016. He ran for president in 1988.

If you ever want an entertaining read, go find "The Little Red (Sox) Book: A Revisionist Red Sox History," which Lee authored. Inspired by Mao's Little Red Book, Lee rewrites franchise history and looks at "what if..." For example, what if the Red Sox had not traded Babe Ruth? What if the Red Sox had signed Jackie Robinson and Willie Mays and paired them with Ted Williams? I believe it was released after the 2004 World Series, so the long suffering of fans had finally ended, but still a VERY fun read.

Here's hoping that he's back on the mound soon with a beer in his back pocket...

ESPN is showing Banana games on TV this summer, and there's a multipart documentary too, Bananaland. It's fun. Jonny Gomes also shows up for the Bananas from time to time.

The problem still exists. My wife has been trying for years to get Blogger to fix the issue. They are either unable or unwilling to solve the problem.

think I found the problem. about 200 publications are uploaded daily using xml. you need to constantly complete it by doing this. I don't know why google did this, maybe it's for spam control.

I don't know what you are saying.

i am saying, you have 200-250 post limit daily for backup. not all at once, you need to repeat it according to the posts. like 250+250+250.... think it's kind of spam protection.

That would be for saving posts to your own hard drive for backup, right?

The problem is restoring comments from hundreds of posts that were inadvertently deleted. Apparently, the comments still exist *somewhere*, but Blogger seems unable (or unwilling to figure out how) to do restore them.
