It's a shame you're voting in Canada then...basically unless your local MP is a high-ranking party official, they have to vote for whatever legislation the leader proposes, or get booted out of the party.
I'd also like to point out that if the Conservatives went any more [sic] right than the Democrats in the States, they would be toast in this country.
You cannot vote in Canada unless you are a citizen -- and you can't apply for citizenship until you have lived in Canada for three years. We do not yet qualify.

Ummm, no shit.
You think we like the Dems? They are AT LEAST half the reason why we don't live in the US anymore, quite probably more.
Anyone who bothers to do the math can see that Hillary is much further to the right than Harper is. Obama just said that nothing Bush/Cheney has yet done rises to the level of impeachment (i.e., a blow job).
For the most part, the US has one-party system. The Rs and Ds play their good cop/bad cop theater every four years, but they still conspire to fuck over each and every non-wealthy person in the nation.

Gotta give you that one. I don't see how multi-millionaires can relate to the average human.
I've basically lost all faith in the political process, and I'm starting to believe in the Propagandhi philosophy of "if you're dumb enough to vote, you're dumb enough to believe 'em"
What, no mention of Fat Billy's career achievement?
ReplyDeleteI love it!
Everyone remember to vote for Okaji as the last man for the all star team!
ReplyDeletevote at mlb.com
(this should have its own topic! he was snubbed!)
Yanks win one in a row - I love it!! It reminds me of one of my favourite headlines from the late 80s: "Break Up The Yanks - They Win A Game".

I doubt you'll ever see an All Star voting thread at JoS. As far as I know, Allan doesn't vote at all. (Neither do I.)

ReplyDeleteFor the ASG, I mean. I think we'll both be voting NDP when we're eligible. :)
Ugh. NDP. Don't get me started on them. Only good thing is that they take away potential Liberal seats allowing the good guys to be in power ;-)
ReplyDeletewell, everyone should still vote for okie.

ReplyDeleteWe can't wait to vote for people who actually represent us. We left the US to get away from those "good guys". :)

ReplyDeleteI didn't mention it, but it was on the back page.

ReplyDeleteExactly. That's a huge reason we're more comfortable in Canada than in the US.

And if you want the proof, I've got it.

ReplyDeleteThat's the least of the problems.
