Channel 7 in Boston had one of their reporters at a Taco Bell in downtown Boston where there was a very long line for the free taco.
The reason? And this was a news story, requiring its own news report, mind you... Lyndon was there to get his free taco. So naturally, there was footage of him standing there, eating the taco, and people cheering.
I hope other societies watch and just laugh, don't you?
Papelbon was predictably entertaining, but his truck-mate Okajima seemed to be having almost as much fun, really getting into the spirit of the whole parade (though he also thinks Pap is insane). When we were walking home, through Cambridge, far from the parade, there was a line around the block at a Taco Bell we passed...
Dodgers and Joe Torre agree on terms of a deal for him to manage the team. Right now they're working on the amount of money his coaches will get. Don Mattingly is expected to join Torre.
Yes the Bot is insane, insanely enjoying a WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
Teams that Schilling is interested in going to (from 38 pitches) - Cleveland, Detroit, Anaheim, New York Mets, Philadelphia, Atlanta, L.A., S.D., Arizona, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis, Milwaukee
WEEI is saying that the Globe is saying that Theo has already said thanks but no thanks.
I suppose it's too much to expect that MLB would look kindly on Pap heading out to the mound for his first appearance in 2008 in an abbreviated kilt....
Maybe it's time to scrap tradition and these 19th Century knickerbockers all the players wear down to their ankles anyway! Didn't the White Sox really really embarrass themselves with some totally lame-ass uniforms back in the late seventies?
L and I will be driving around Ontario's wine region with a couple of friends this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteGreat site! As a long suffering BoSox fan, the last four years have been paradise. Just unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of your wonderful links. Watching the parade from work.....wishing I was there, but I'm thinking this is the next best thing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day!
Hope you enjoy the drive.
ReplyDeleteI don't see Julian in any of the parade photos I looked at. Hope he's not too upset.
Day 2 of the offseason and I bring to you:
ReplyDeleteWorld's most ridiculous sports team names
I've got a few posts for later, but swamped with work right now.
