Daisuke Matsuzaka vs Boof Bonser (who has dropped about 30 pounds from last year) , 7 PM
Hideki Okajima, Mike Timlin and Julian Tavarez will also pitch. Twins relievers will include Joe Nathan, Brian Bass, Kevin Slowey, Phil Humber and Zach Day.
Kevin Youkilis, Dustin Pedroia, Julio Lugo, Mike Lowell, Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz, Coco Crisp and Bobby Kielty will be in the lineup. And a catcher, I guess. (Jason Varitek, Jacoby Ellsbury and J.D. Drew are not making the trip.)
The game will be on MLB.TV*. If work is slow tonight, I'll watch and comment.
*: I bought the basic package this time. I didn't notice much of a difference in picture quality last season -- so why give MLB an extra $30?
It's on NESN tonight, too. You all missed a great game-thread last night. It was just me! And Patrick's still saying something about 84. I'm confused. What's this 84?
ReplyDeleteYeah, what is that 84?
ReplyDeleteYou all missed a great game-thread last night. It was just me!
So you're saying it was only witty and scintillating conversation?
No games (or game threads) for me until Opening Day. I still have a month of Movie Season left.
He said 84 wins -- but that didn't clear anything up at all.
ReplyDeleteYou all missed a great game-thread last night. It was just me!
ReplyDeleteI okayed your first couple of comments, then went to watch a movie. I was thinking I'd come back and there would be 150 comments waiting to go through ...
So I asked a serious question at the end of the Papi For President post, but most people had probably moved on. Anyone wanna opine?
ReplyDeleteGammons on the Dodgers-Braves game right now. He and the three announcers pick your '08 champs: Gammons: Mets (over Tigers). Other 3: Tigers, Tigers, Tigers.
ReplyDeleteEach was given a six-team list of "teams to watch" in the AL. I like how Gammo left the Yanks off entirely.... but all three put Sox atop list, despite that they all think the Tigers will win the AL. Though Peter picks Cleveland to win the central.
Ooh, and as they come back from commercial, Gammons, not knowing he was on the air yet, says, and I quote, "I did my steroids this morning." Ha.
About the serious question: Also, why is it "normal" to wear ash on your forehead, get dunked in water when you're born, etc., but if you're bowing toward Mecca or wearing a veil, you're "doin' terrorist shit"?
BTW: If anyone wants to comment, it should go in other thread.
ReplyDeleteAlso, why is it "normal" to wear ash on your forehead, get dunked in water when you're born, etc., but if you're bowing toward Mecca or wearing a veil, you're "doin' terrorist shit"?
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, the religious right hates Catholics and Jews as much as they hate Muslims. Maybe more.

Just catching up with the game and the awesomeness of the ol' back to back HRs from Youk and the Capt., but I just saw that the MFY played USF and actually had runs scored against them. Now that's pathetic.
ReplyDeleteLaura once again sorry about my outburst but I've had a rather shitty week and my gf at RIT and NY treating her wrong makes me despise it even more.

Meanwhile Santana gave up three runs on four hits over two innings. Small sample size, but not a great start.
ReplyDeletesweet! first game thread... wish I could've watched the game, but I didn't get home in time. I enjoyed reading this, for sure. Thanks, RS and all.
ReplyDeleteFWIW, I got a new laptop. End of the season last year I was laptopless or at work for most of the post-season. I hereby resolve to not work and sit around with a computer for the next 10 months.
I hereby resolve to not work and sit around with a computer for the next 10 months.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice. I will join you.
(Although I am staying out of game threads until Opening Day.)
