  3. One final comment before I retire for the night...

    You think Caray was bad in the later innings of game 4?

    Just wait till the fucking Rays 'feel good' cheerleader parade starts up in the ALCS - we're about to witness a play by play debauchery of Buckstoric proportions.

  4. Chip Caray will wake up tomorrow a devout Rays fan! No question in my mind. They are a great story this year, so it'll be no prolbem for him to out-Migraine Migraine.

    We'll stick with ESPN radio. Campbell and Shulman were fine. Not sure if they are doing the ALCS. They were ahead of our TV, so it was strange to hear the entire Lowrie hit/Bay scoring play before Shields threw the pitch on TV, but we got to enjoy it live twice!

    TBS = Total Bull Shit

  5. It couldn't be any worse then listening to the two-headed monster that is Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. Colonoscopies provide more enjoyment than the inane chatter of those two.

    It couldn't be? It is!

    We've all bitched and moaned our way through McCarver/Buck games. The TBS broadcast wasn't even in the same league. I'd welcome the Foxiots at this point.

    But no matter, we've got the radio solution now and we're sticking to it.

    RSVN, here we come!!

  8. I've got Red Sox radio for this next series, although Dave O'Brien moves on to MLB International and we're graced with the presence of one Dale Arnold (er....) Maybe getting some back-to-back games under his belt will be okay. Maybe by the world series he'll be fine.

    But then of course, MLB will take away the local radio guys I've been listening to all season (why not allow the affiliates to keep the local radio and force-feed the national ads to them? Oh wait, they already force-feed the national ads to local radio in the WS! Weird hearing Castig saying "You're listening to the World Series on WRKO presented by Auto Zone."), but we'll see what happens.

  9. I've got to say that I don't totally understand the TBS-bashing. They certainly seemed to want the Angels to win, but the color guys are so much better than McCarver/Morgan that it's not even funny. Harold Reynolds, for example, is a pretty excellent color guy, even if he was awful on BBTN.

    And when Fox bombards us with cross-promotion and famous people in the stands interviews, crazy graphics that block the action, and commercials so long you miss the first pitch of an inning, we'll be begging for TBS. Remember the 2004 World Series interview with "Leon?" Joe Buck's "Slamalamadingdong?" John Cougar Fucking Mellencamp playing a damn Chevy jingle before the game? This is all about to get much, much worse.

  10. we'll be begging for TBS

    Speak for yourself. My experience is exactly the opposite. I never thought anything could make me miss the Fox broadcasts, but TBS has managed that trick.

  11. Well...at least TBS doesn't have that "RIGHT NOW!" graphic.

  12. Congrats! I now have a diehard Angel fan who obviously was not happy. Watched the game with him.

    Was thinking of you and Laura.
