Brad Penny will get his shoulder checked out by Dr. Tom Gill, who just arrived in Florida. Manager Terry Francona seemed to indicate that it was more precautionary than anything, and that he is not overly worried about Penny.Out of the Red Sox pen today: Takashi Saito, Hideki Okajima, Manny Delcarmen, Ramon Ramirez, Adam Mills.
I think the only coverage of this game is the Marlins audio at MLB.com.
ReplyDeleteI recognize that voice! Glenn Geffner on the radio....
ReplyDeleteBeckett pitches out of a 2nd and 3rd situation in the first.
Dree singles in his first AB.
ReplyDelete2-0 us after 2.
ReplyDeleteDree is Drew, of course.
ReplyDeleteRight. Daeges with a dong for the runs.
ReplyDeleteI wish spring training boxes listed pitch counts.
ReplyDeleteThree nice innings by Beckett.
ReplyDeleteWell, after the kinda tough first, he got 1-2-3 in the second and faced just three batters in the third, helped by a caught stealing. I wasn't keeping count, though.
ReplyDeleteSaito in to start the fourth.
ReplyDelete45 pitches, 31 strikes for Beckett per XB.
ReplyDeleteSaito: a walk and 2 Ks in the 4th.
ReplyDeleteG-mer in for the fifth. Still 2-0 Boston.
ReplyDeleteMaybin is going to be real good.
ReplyDeleteCameron Maven with a dong, 2-1. Very weird, long call by the non-Geffner guy.
ReplyDeleteSounded like Maven to me:)
ReplyDeleteOka gave up 2. 2-2 after 4.5.
ReplyDeleteBailey 2B knocks in Lugo and Carter. 4-2 Sox.
ReplyDeleteLowrie double knocks in the run with a double. 5-2.
ReplyDeleteMDC in for the sixth. 5-2 us.
ReplyDeleteNow a horrible buzzing tone coming from Gameday Audio instead of the game. Actually, it's about as exciting as Geffner. Maybe he shorted out.
ReplyDeleteDAMN it feels like baseball season today! Amazing weather! 61 and sunny....mmmmmm
ReplyDeleteMDC's inning: 3 singles, 3 K
ReplyDeleteRam-Ram allows a run. 5-3 Sox.
ReplyDeletenice inning by Mills. We're three outs away from victory.
ReplyDeleteAll J's to start the lineup. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteWater.
ReplyDeleteThe Marlins' radio guys said that Joe Castiglione was interviewing Joe Castiglione in the booth at one point during the Red Sox broadcast. The latter is the athletic director at Oklahoma (or Oklahoma State), I think.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty funny that the name that looks odd on our bullpen roster when I read it is "Adam Mills". LOL
ReplyDeleteI saw that lugo and lowrie both had 2 hits. I was gonna say something about lugo not giving up and doing good. Then I saw the RBI's and remembered that lugo gets hits, sometimes, but they are never for RBI's. Even when he bats 9th.
