After a somewhat soggy 10-1 abbreviated victory in the afternoon, there is a second game this evening. ... Weather permitting.
Still OAK 7 - MFY - 7 in the top of the 11th.

5. J.D. Drew, RF
6. Jason Bay, LF

Still 7-7 in the middle of the 12th.
ReplyDeleteHeading into the 13th.
ReplyDeleteOnto 13!
ReplyDeleteBing Crosby proving his uselessness in the 9 spot today.
ReplyDeleteI want to use the phrase "Gumball Rally" tonight. Make it so.
ReplyDeleteDear A's: If you win, we'll be in second place. We'd like that. Sincerely, RSN
This game would be over now if they didn't take out Jack Cust.
ReplyDeleteAren't we tied for 2nd now?
ReplyDeleteWe're tied for 2nd for the moment. The outcome of the MFYs' current game will change that one way or another.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense.
ReplyDeleteDumbo to the plate.
ReplyDeleteYuck.
ReplyDeleteLooks like that system is just going to mingle there for awhile.
Worst-case scenario in my house tonight is watch the Bruins on the main television and the Rangers/Caps game on the little TV. Rather than the Red Sox.
ReplyDeleteThat would be good news for those who don't have NESN Plus. Not to mention the poor picture quality on some carriers.
Fucking exam at 6:30, I'm hoping it doesn't take the full time and I can get out in time to see the end of the game.
ReplyDelete14 comments on here, to 14 innings go the As-MFYs
Listening to the Yankees radio... They have Mark Feinsand of the Daily News on each game in the fifth inning. They had him come back up for the 14th for the Daily News Fifth... Again.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely prefer the yahoo game tracker to that piece of shit they have on MLB.com, there's so much garbage in it I have no idea what's going on in the game.
ReplyDeleteLast night I checked out NHL.com's gameday live concoction and was pleasantly surprised by it. Interesting individual stats updated real time - and they even provide radio broadcasts for free.
ReplyDeleteI hate GDGD, but it's still better than the alternatives in my experience.
ReplyDeleteAll that super bonus extra expensive crap on the left side of the screen can be minimized so it stays out of your way.
Still tied in the middle of the 14th.
ReplyDeleteSwisher's batting. What're the odds we see him pitching next inning?
ReplyDeleteMilk Dud ends it.
ReplyDelete"That's the Melky Way!" Sterling's call on the dong.
ReplyDeleteMilk Dong.
Fucking Melky.
ReplyDeleteAny news on the weather/game? Extra Bases and SoSH are quiet.
ReplyDeleteNESN is showing Wakefield and Kottaras playing mini golf in Florida.
ReplyDeleteNothing on the Globe's site since 4pm.
ReplyDeleteNothing on the Globe's site since 4pm.
ReplyDeleteI know. That's why I was asking. :>/
GDGD has it as delayed.
ReplyDeleteHi all. Had the game on at work today, but I was too busy to stop by here and say hi. Now I'm the radio until 8 and then again at 10. Hopefully there'll be some ball I can spot in between.
ReplyDeleteIt's completely stopped raining in Providence. Clear skies.
ReplyDelete"They just announced in the press box that this game will start at 7:55 p.m. The tarp is currently being removed from the field for the second time since the last game was called."
ReplyDeletehttp://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2009/04/755_start.html
Still nothing on EI (besides the Jays radio feed).
ReplyDeleteTwins feed
ReplyDeleteGDGD now says "Warmup".
ReplyDeletewhat the fuck are these fuckers wearing??????????
ReplyDeleteNothing says Earth Day like a fucking shamrock.
ReplyDeleteUh, we're turning into the fucking Mets with how many uniforms we have now. Disgraceful.
ReplyDeleteStupid Unis
ReplyDeletetwins start calling lf wall a baggy --then stopped!
ReplyDeletenice lyndon liner, though it was an out
Nice catch, Morales.
ReplyDelete"... hitting the ball off that bag--- umm, well, that's not really a baggy, is it? the left field wall."
ReplyDeleteIf only that part of the ballpark had a name.
ReplyDeleteDuring Game 1, L and I were wondering if Pesky and his wife ever made jokes about Pesky's "pole"? She thought absolutely.
ReplyDeleteDrew looks so bored.
ReplyDelete"Ever made", as in before she died?
ReplyDeletechew him up, gumball.
ReplyDeleteCHEWY DONG!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteforgot to look for jere
ReplyDeleteGUMBALL!!!
ReplyDelete"Drew looks so bored."
ReplyDeleteThe sky is blue.
Oh hey, look at that.
ReplyDeleteThat was a "GUMBALL RALLY"!
ReplyDeleteWEEI Math:
fired up + outs > bored + .400 OBP
The fuck train is making multiple stops in Dongtown.
ReplyDeleteThe combo of these uni's and the red sox shows that the away uni's can be worn with red sox. I'm talking the regular away jerseys.
ReplyDeleteA lot of offense this year. I smell some new type of steroids.
ReplyDeleteLove the DP. Wish Dave Roberts would keep talking, though.
ReplyDeleteLIDP
ReplyDeleteShit, I'm missing that.
ReplyDeleteMaybe make a note to look at MLBTV archive?
what is that annoying dance song that they play now after home runs? They play this same song around the league, and I hate the fact that Fenway os doing it now too. Does anyone know what it is?
ReplyDeletereplay shows lyndon's foot getting in - twins say "head first slide"
ReplyDeleteHE'S BACK BIG!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteopposite field for ortiz = good.
ReplyDeleteHalf-dong!
ReplyDeleteSPEED MUTHERFUCKER
ReplyDeletedickey up in twins pen
ReplyDeletewhat is this hockey on my screen? I switched over to the MLB network and the sox were on! for 2 minutes!
ReplyDeleteapparently we're up. GDGD here I come.
doung for twins.
ReplyDeleteCrap.
ReplyDeletestart pitching again, penny.
ReplyDeletetwins tv are obsessed with how hard twins are hitting the ball. OBSESSED. especially since they have only one run.
ReplyDeletewhew
ReplyDeletetwins are "ABSOLUTELY MASHING THE BALL AGAINST PENNY"
ReplyDeletegive it up boys.
I like Green's bat and all, but DAMN he sucks at fielding. (5 errors now)
ReplyDeleteCircle my dong, burt/
ReplyDeletewas that a hard hit ball?
ReplyDeletetwins tv: (crickets)
got 'em back in a hurry!!!
ReplyDeletefuck thw twins
It's so nice to get runs back after giving them up.
ReplyDeleteHell, it's nice just to get runs. We're getting so many more this week.
"Hell, it's nice just to get runs. We're getting so many more this week."
ReplyDeleteI think they've been more patient at the plate lately; that probably helps.
I think they've been more patient at the plate lately; that probably helps.
ReplyDeleteMore just that our BABIP is regressing to the mean.
Also facing the Orioles' worst pitching in the league helps.
ReplyDeleteI bet Jere has a good shot of Bailey's dong.
ReplyDelete"More just that our BABIP is regressing to the mean."
ReplyDeleteTouché.
Somewhere in Florida, Julio Lugo curses his TV.
ReplyDeleteOr wherever the PawSox are at.
ReplyDeleteFEAR THE RAM!
ReplyDeleteyoung didnt even know he was "hit" - fuckin ump
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Terry.
ReplyDeleteTOSS HIM!
ReplyDeleteJust getting in, and no reception for NESNplus here. But I see we are ahead again!
ReplyDeleteBoy, sure is quiet here. I guess two games in one day is too much for some people!
ReplyDeleteAlso Jere's at the game, and he's like 20% of our offense.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone. Just finished watching the Bruins SWEEP the Canadiens. Life is good. Had the Red Sox on the little TV in the living room all evening so I kept a close eye on that, too. Life really is good! And how about Gumball dong, eh?
ReplyDeleteI'm having a great night.
One thing that's funny is my NESN Plus channel is about five seconds delayed. I was so confused at first because normally it's about a half-second delay.
L's out too.
ReplyDeleteAnd Bot's in.
Hey, Ish. No NESNplus here, as predicted. :( But I was out til almost ten anyway.
ReplyDelete"Watching" Pap on the computer is just not the same.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the schedule moving forward will mean no more Bruins Red Sox overlaps. Time Warner Cable here put NESN Plus on a channel with terrible, terrible picture and sound. It looks like I'm watching in a dream. I can't even continue watching it, so I'm listening to it on the radio.
ReplyDeleteAt least on the little TV the picture was ok.
Twins PBP just called 2004 Boston's "first world championship".
ReplyDeleteSo did Bert.
Amy, the game is now back on NESN.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ish, I was just going to ask about that.
ReplyDeleteThey just switched it back. Well, it's on NESN Plus as well. So you can see a quick replay of the pitch, haha.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED that slow-motion replay of the ball hitting the umpire's mask.
ReplyDeleteWith today's game, Wake is oldest starter ever to pitch B2B CG!
ReplyDeleteSo sez Twins TV, but they are also dumb as shit.
What's with the green caps??
ReplyDeleteSee what I missed not having a picture.
ReplyDeleteTwo away.
So after a 2-6 start, Sox have gone 7-0!
ReplyDeleteI think Don just said 1913 was the last time... I don't know if a doubleheader in general or a Red Sox doubleheader was rain-shortened for Game 1 and played a full Game 2.
ReplyDeleteOr something.
So after a 2-6 start, Sox have gone 7-0!Twins feed must be 1 out ahead of NESN! Haha
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain the green caps and weird jerseys??
ReplyDeleteWatery Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBoston is FLOODED with dirty water!
ReplyDeleteWater.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea about the green unis either. Earth day?
ReplyDeleteWater!
ReplyDeleteCaps: Earth Day.
ReplyDeleteYes! Nice day for baseball, despite all the rain.
ReplyDeleteBring on the Yankees!
Wasn't Earth Day April 20?
ReplyDeleteBack in second again.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Earth Day April 20?
ReplyDeleteNo, 4/20 is a different green holiday.
Green Sox: Maybe they lost a bet.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Penny made a peculiar request.
ReplyDeleteHey I'd like green jerseys tonight.
FKR take a quick 3-0 lead in the first.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to settle in for some more hockey. Blackhawks and Flames. Versus showing the TSN feed so I feel like I'm in Canada a little bit.
ReplyDeleteHad to look that one up, Benjamin.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I am just so out of the loop it scares me.
Also, Hitler's birthday.
"Also Jere's at the game, and he's like 20% of our offense."
ReplyDeleteHaha!
One of these days I'll have the technology to post here from games--finally getting a cell phone might be the first step. But now I'm dead set to making it to 2010 without one.
I left around 4:30, and sure enough, the traffic at that time, plus rain, made me not arrive till 6:30--but I got a spot right away so it was perfect...until they delayed the game an hour. But I did get to sit in the front row of the Monsters ALL game--LOTS of empty seats.
Jere said...
ReplyDelete-finally getting a cell phone might be the first step. But now I'm dead set to making it to 2010 without one.
Why? is there some cosmic earth shattering reason......
Red Sox and Twins getting a lot of flack on how yesterday was handled...
"finally getting a cell phone might be the first step"
ReplyDeleteA shocking development!
"But I did get to sit in the front row of the Monsters ALL game"
ReplyDeleteWow! Cool.
Good games. I had to work during the first one. Luckily my job yesterday consisted solely of WATCHING THE SOX GAME!
ReplyDelete
