Rangers - 000 000 300 - 3 7 0Buchholz (6.2-6-3-1-10, 114) had allowed only three baserunners through the first six innings, but was hit hard to start the seventh. Two doubles and a single in the span of nine pitches put two Texas runs on the board. The 10 strikeouts was a career high.
Red Sox - 000 000 000 - 0 6 2
Boston could do nothing with Wilson or the two Darrens (O'Day and Oliver). Only one Red Sox runner got to second base -- that was Victor Martinez (who had two singles and a walk) in the seventh inning.C.J. Wilson / Clay Buchholz
Buchholz has pitched quite poorly in his two starts this year. He has a 1.80 ERA, because only two of his seven runs allowed have been earned. In 10 innings, he has given up 10 hits and walked six batters. (And yet his 1.600 WHIP is second best among the starters, which is pretty clear evidence of how shitty the starters have been.)

No doghouse that I know of.
ReplyDeleteTiz could only PH (and not take the field) or replace Lowell at DH. Lowell batted with 2 outs and no one on in both the 7th and 10th. No need for Tiz there.
Martinez was probably given a complete day off.

HH has OCD with a guy on 1B
ReplyDeleteI just went to look for Tala, found her in a hole she dug, all guilty-looking when she saw me. Now we have two holes in the dirt, one for each dog.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's not 4-0 yet in this game. That's good news.
ReplyDeletesexy curve
ReplyDeleteIs she not supposed to dig in the dirt? I bet that white dog gets pretty dirty.
ReplyDeleteSox have Earth Day logo on the sleeves.
ReplyDeleteI wonder just how green the whole Red Sox organization really is.
ReplyDeleteWe're lucky, her fur is amazingly self-cleaning. We towel her off and she's clean. In the winter, she shakes snow of herself, and her fur is dry. The northern breeds (huskies, malamutes, etc) have amazing fur.
ReplyDeleteI like the Sox Earth Day logos.
Oh yeah, digging. She probably once made a huge mess in the dirt and I expressed dismay, hence the guilty ears. But I didn't yell at her for this. Dogs like to dig, what are you gonna do.
ReplyDeleteI doubt they're very green at all. If they were, they'd tell us about it.
ReplyDelete(Or do they and I don't know?)
I think training a dog not to dig is probably almost as futile an exercise as teaching a cat not to chase a mouse or bird! I think it must be more by breed, though. Neither Zapper or Cassie ever was interested in digging.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I doubt much is very green about Fenway, except, of course, Fenway itself.
ReplyDeleteMcDonald can field also.
ReplyDeletelow strike sgetting called tonight
ReplyDeletevery quiet here
ReplyDeleteYankees turned a triple play today. There's something that doesn't happen very often.
ReplyDeleteOo that's cool. We saw one in a minor league game in Santa Fe. It's so weird how it takes a moment to realize what you saw.
ReplyDeleteHey Westcoast, you on the ground??
ReplyDeleteI have never seen one. I wonder if Harvey knows. He didn't mention it to me yet.
ReplyDeletekkkkkkkkklay
ReplyDeletedroooooooooooooo
ReplyDeleteI'm on the ground, in the office, itching to get in the car and listen to some baseball on the way home.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why NESN thinks we need sound effects when the graphics move or when the inning ends.
ReplyDeleteWe do not.
Tim Wakefield looked like his dog just died.
ReplyDeletemy voiceover for that was "we're old and on our way out...."
ReplyDeleteshould be 4-0 soon, amy.
ReplyDeleteStall, Clay. Tie your shoe. Get something in your eye so Ram Ram can warm up.
ReplyDeleteJFC. Ball looked like it hit a land mine before reaching Youkilis.
ReplyDeleteIf Ramon Ramirez is our best option out of the pen right now, I'm fine with Clay throwing another 40 pitches.
ReplyDeletehello defense
ReplyDeleteCue Yakety Sax music.
ReplyDeleteHey, I have an idea! What say the Red Sox score some runs?!
ReplyDeleteDamn, bad time to join the game. By GDGD report, we looked like Keystone Cops out there that last play.
ReplyDeleterally?
ReplyDeletegammons reports wakefield to bullpen.
ReplyDeleteSo prior to the 7th, Clay was sitting on just 2 hits, 1 walk, and no runs thru 6. I'll take that any day. WTF is up with the meltdown though?
ReplyDeletehe was cruising, career high 10 K, but three hard hit balls to start the 7th.
ReplyDeleteI hate it for Wake, but that move makes more sense to me than any other option
ReplyDeletewe need a 3-run happy meal from mcdonald
