CIN - 000 000 000 - 0 0 1Halladay (9-0-0-1-8, 104) became the fifth pitcher in baseball history to throw two no-hitters in one season -- and the first to have one in the regular season and one in the playoffs. The only baserunner was a two-out walk to Jay Bruce in the fifth inning.
PHI - 130 000 00x - 4 5 0
Don Larsen's perfect game for the Yankees against the Dodgers in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series was the only post-season no-hitter until today.
Earlier this afternoon, Cliff Lee (7-5-1-0-10, 104) shut down the Rays and the Rangers won 5-1. ... The Yankees beat the Twins 6-4.
And it took only until the bottom of the first inning of the first game of the post-season for the first questionable (or wrong) call from an umpire.
so dominant. i love roy.
ReplyDeleteconvenient placement of rolaids behind jeter. guess TBS is into the whole "lets show jeter all the time between pitches" shit too. i think that rolaids should count as an ad for L's studies! if she was doing one for this.
It was one of those performances that made you think early on he had the chance to maybe not give up a hit. Total dominance.
ReplyDeletelol ish.
ReplyDeleteI told a co-worker, as I was heading out the door at 5:30, that he had a no-hitter going through 1.2 innings. I was laughed at.
Chirping him tomorrow will be fun.
Blown call #2!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to watch a pitcher pitch the way Halladay was pitching last night. It's part of what baseball so magical. Here I was watching a game where I did not care about either team, but my heart was pumping with each out he made, each pitch he threw. Just beautiful.
