Globe:

10:51 AM:
Josh Beckett was hit on the left side of his head by a ball during batting practice a few minutes ago. He walked off the field escorted by a trainer while rubbing his head. He had been standing in shallow left field. ... Joe McDonald of ESPN reports that Beckett was hit when BP pitcher Ino Guerrero attempted to hit a shagged ball back to the bucket behind second base.

11:14 AM:
Beckett is OK according to media relations director Pam Ganley. He was hit in the head. Rough spring for Beckett, who was hit in the face by a rag ball off the bat of Terry Francona during a drill about 10 days ago.

1:15 PM:
Beckett is in the dugout watching the Twins-Sox game. He seems to be fine. No bandages can be seen.

Abraham again:
David Ortiz said he had a dream last week that he scored 12 points for the Celtics in a game against the Heat. "I played 22 minutes," Big Papi said. "I looked at the clock." Asked whether he had any dunks, Ortiz laughed. "Oh, (expletive) yeah," he said.

Dice: "My fastball is running well. That’s something I’m very happy with. Overall, I think I did a good job in my first outing."
