A couple of years ago, I emailed with someone at NESN, trying to arrange an interview with Orsillo by email -- something similar to the Beatwriter Roundtable I did a long time ago. I never really got a reply -- which I suppose means "No" -- and I gave up.
I became convinced that it never came off because the guy I emailed with (or maybe Don himself) looked at the blog, saw some dig I made about reading press notes verbatim all night or some other anti-NESN thing* and said "Fuck that guy."
[* Though I really do enjoy Orsillo -- the good FAR outweighs the bad -- and am glad he's our PBP guy for many reasons, I swear. Plus I think a Mass. kid who grows up to be the Sox TV announcer and call 2 WS-winning seasons is an amazing story.]
I have no idea if my paranoia is warranted, but I'm confident this post will put me on a persona non grata list for sure.
You forgot the obligatory comment about how long the starting pitcher sat on the bench during the big rally in the previous half-inning -- but maybe it wont' fit on a square.

I think Orsillo is terrific, and I like the Bingo. I just wonder if "fisted" and "In through the Back Door" have to be on top of one another? Could they be placed differently--it would spare some uncomfortable spontaneous squirming.
I just realized that I will never "win" this game since I never really listen to what these guys are saying. If this game makes me pay attention to them, I am in BIG trouble!
Shit! Gotta have that one. I will update very shortly.
I like the solidarity aspect of this. We cry "bingo" as one!
Not everyone will hear every phrase, though. ... I guarantee that during a game, someone will post "Bingo!" and Amy will ask how can that be because she has put down only one chip so far.

LOL! No doubt about that. I have as much chance of winning one of these bingo games as I have of winning the W-L contest...which I didn't even enter. :)

"and Red Sox Nation stands as one!"
Excellent! I'll replace Canvas Alley with that one.
Yeah, that one makes me laugh every single time!
Very cool! Between threading and bingo, it will be even harder to focus on the actual game! :)

This post originally started with:
"Gamethreading not distracting enough for you? Play Don Orsillo Catch Phrase Bingo!"
:>)
OMG, I am so excited for the season to start! I hope to get home in time for the first pitch tomorrow.
I think to torture me, FIVE of my students showed up in class today with Yankee caps on. I am hoping that the Sox fans do the same tomorrow.
OH NO! We are already 0.5 GB!

LOLOLOLOLOL!
I dunno, if you invite Don over to crush some BBQ, offer some swag and maybe iron and pack his suits, he may just show.
FUCKIN EH!!!!!!!
I mean, FUCKIN EH!!!!!
This is awesome!!!!
Tim, it cracks me up every time you post as Stephanie!
Could you post some randomized versions so that we don't all get bingo in unison.

No.

It's possible they BOTH like it, you know!!!
Speaking of MA natives calling Red Sox baseball, Dave O'Brien, who was re-upped by WEEI for a few more years, is from Quincy.

I got it: "x-minute wait".

I think I might go blind from rolling my eyes too much.
I think Don & Jerry would play show & tell with DOCPB in the booth - if people sent them the link.
It would be pretty cool to see this on TV, eh?

Not the best contact, but...

We used to have one for the booth itself. Anyone?

2nd row down, 2nd square from left
This is awesome! I don't often get a good rolling chuckle on before I leave the house for work. I can't wait!!!
I at first wanted randomized cards, but I like the solidarity aspect of this. We cry "bingo" as one!
No "strand a pair"?
Strand a pair! Of course! (Although a phrase you don't want to hear too often.)
That could replace "in the midst of a meeting with himself," which I think is a little weak.

I love this post, it's hilarious and so creative. But are people really planning on playing? I can't say I'm going to.
Don Orsillo Catch Phrase Drinking Game > Don Orsillo Catch Phrase Bingo!
(That will have to wait for Tuesday night.)
Bingo Card 3.0 is up, with "strand a pair".
Bingo Card v4
1. Replaced "elevates" with "off the back side"
2. Moved "grab some wall" out of the same column as "and red sox nation stands as one", since those are almost exclusively used during home games

IYI: Final version is up.
