ESPN: NL MVP Ryan Braun Tests Positive For PEDs, Faces 50-Game Suspension; Will Dispute Positive Result Through Arbitration
National League MVP Ryan Braun, who last season led the Milwaukee Brewers to their first division title in nearly three decades, has tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug and faces a 50-game suspension if the initial finding is upheld, two sources familiar with the case told "Outside the Lines."
Major League Baseball has not announced the positive test because Braun is disputing the result through arbitration.
A spokesman for Braun issued a statement Saturday: "There are highly unusual circumstances surrounding this case which will support Ryan's complete innocence and demonstrate there was absolutely no intentional violation of the program. While Ryan has impeccable character and no previous history, unfortunately, because of the process we have to maintain confidentiality and are not able to discuss it any further, but we are confident he will ultimately be exonerated."
Another guy who came out and spoke out against A-Rod and now his ass is caught, He should have his MVP award stripped
ReplyDeleteThe judge and jury have spoken, I see.

Because MLB could never, ever fuck anything up, right?
Braun may be guilty, but we should probably make sure the test was done correctly and the result is legit - and not base anything on an anonymous media report - before stripping anyone of anything.
Maybe Braun can use Slappy's "we were crazy young kids, we didn't know what was going on" excuse.
I foresee a tearful apology to Old Hickory.
ReplyDeleteBut, yes, it's unfair to pass judgement before the arbitration process is complete. Were it to be proven true, it would be disappointing, of course.

Allan, are thry dumb enough to leak this story without knowing all the facts . It makes them look just as bad Braun (the postitive test).
I assume they speak with the player and let him do everything in his power to prove his story first, right?
Pujols got ripped for his loyalty . I feel as though this is more disheartening to fans the jumpin teams.
Is it so hard to play by the rules.
I understand owners make alot of money but when a guy can sign a contract for 123 million that will pay him til 2021, what is a measley 50 game supension. A couple cycles of steriods and you are set for life.
They need to find a way to shorten these contracts so guys after they go south aren't being paid to hit
.270 and have 18 dongs.
Baseballs guaranteed contracts are a joke.
Just imagine if your boss came to you with an iron clad contract and on that day you were his best performer and he said I will give $1,000,000 for the next 5 years you just can't leave. With really no resticions or ways he can get out of it.
You sign that contract.
2 years later you bang his wife , wreck the company car , and forget to write some important brief.... Too bad that shit is guaranteed.
They live in a world none of us can fathom.......and why?

ReplyDeleteYou're saying that the mere existence of a leaked story means a man is guilty? Think about that for a minute.

He was tested once - failed, tested again -failed.
I didn't say guilty once I said it looked bad.
I must also assume these guys aren't pissin on ept strip. Meaning the tests are pretty advanced.
You can take whatever side you want or wait for more facts. I was just saying it looks bad for baseball either way.
I mean you must have some opinion.
Or when you heard this you just said to yourself I will wait for more info. I had a reaction is that not human, flawed maybe , but human...
OK, looks bad, not necessarily guilty, I guess that's a distinction I don't make.
ReplyDeleteHey, I didn't say your reaction was inhuman!
I don't really have any opinion, because I don't care about PED use. I'm always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially when others are rushing off to a lynching. But in general... I don't care.
"A source close to Braun said that when he was told about the positive test, he immediately requested to be tested again. That second test, the source said, was not positive. Those close to Braun believe that the difference between the two tests will show that the first test was invalid."
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of holes in that argument. If he was using something, he had to have known the first pee would come back positive. Plus the second test likely came after the Brewers had been bounced from the post-season.
Seeing on Twitter that the false positive rate for this test is around 4%.
ReplyDeleteDr. Rosenpenis is saying he tested pozzy for a "prohibited substance," not a PEDo-bear.
