Unless "Alex, Washington, DC" respects Nick Cafardo's opinion so much and just wanted to hear what he had to say about Cody Ross. In which case, he's a moron, and he gets the information he deserves.
SoSH, Yesterday: Gammons just said on NESN that after talking to Boras today, Jax has 3, 2 and 1 year deals on the table with the 1-year deal the most likely. He wants to be on a team that will win and give him run support. "Has a good feeling" about EJ and Boston.
On Jan. 30, Managua’s Second Penal Court clipped [Vicente] Padilla’s passport and issued a capture order for his arrest after he failed to appear for a second court date to face accusations that he’s neglecting child support obligations, according to the daily La Prensa.
Padilla, whose largest contract was a $33-million, three-year deal signed with Texas in 2006, is being accused of failing to pay $540 a month in child support for his 10th kid, who is three years old. Padilla recently signed a $1.5 million minor league contract with the Red Sox.
PeteAbe update: According to LaPrensa of Nicaragua, the arrest order was rescinded but Padilla apparently still has immigration issues related to the child-support payments. ... Pitchers and catchers do not report until Feb. 19 ...
