In the wake of Daniel Bard's atrocious start recently, one American League scout said the Red Sox are making a mistake by making him a starter. ...That is the way Heyman began his article. But there is only one problem.
Bard did not start that game. He came out of the bullpen. (And had his outing interrupted by a rain delay.)
I guess Heyman doesn't have access to box scores. Or any other baseball articles.
Even if he had started, it's still pretty lame. One bad start and you're relegated?
ReplyDeleteSo, basically, Bard blew the save when he had a chance for a hold. He failed in the very role that he should he relegated to?
ReplyDeleteQuick, can we find someone to take Bard and Bailey? After all, the latter was shaky in his very first spring training appearance. Never mind that he pitched a perfect inning of relief, striking out two, in his next one.
