Twins - 000 010 003 - 4 6 0 Red Sox - 002 020 11x - 6 14 0Boston salvaged one game of the four-game series against Minnesota. Morales (6-3-1-3-4, 106) gave the Red Sox a quality start, and Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez led the offense.
Crawford went 3-for-5, with two runs scored, a stolen base, and an RBI. Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and an intentional walk.
Crawford and Gonzalez each drove in a run in the third inning, and Crawford scored on Evil Bert's home run in the fifth. Crawford singled and scored on Cody Ross's single in the seventh. Jacoby Ellsbury's sac fly in the eighth brought in Ryan Kalish, who had doubled.
Boston suffered a mild scare - or maybe just some annoyance and anger - in the ninth when Vicente Padilla allowed a solo home run to Josh Willingham, a walk to Justin Morneau, and a two-run blast to Ryan Doumit. Alfredo Aceves came in and retired the next three batters on nine pitches.
Also: Ross, Mike Aviles, and Will Middlebrooks each had two hits.

We're very mediocre. We're not playing good baseball. ... We know we need to go on this run. The clock's ticking.
Wow.
