Podsednik, LFDaniel Bard will be activated for tonight's game. His numbers for Pawtucket are positively gruesome. In 32 innings, Bard allowed 31 hits and 29 walks, while striking out 32. He has a 7.03 ERA and a 1.88 WHIP. No one has even a shred of a clue how he will perform with the Red Sox.

Last night's start, Zach Stewart, was optioned down. The nine runs Stewart allowed were the most by a pitcher in his Boston debut in 109 years (Norwood Gibson allowed nine on April 29, 1903; on April 26, 1902, Pep Deininger allowed 11 runs to the Washington Senators.)
Wouldn't it be nice to wake on a cold December day , with this season far away in the rear view mirror. I walk outside shivering in the crisp New England air to grab my newspaper. Return to my kitchen table , place the paper on the dining room table, Grab my coffee, return to my chair, take the thin plastic bag , which stills allow moisture to seep through, off the paper. Unfold the paper , see the headline about some murder in Waterbury, flip two sections away... And then see the sports headline.... Red Sox Do It Again...Megadeal done...
ReplyDeleteThe small headline reads, Red Sox trade 5 minor leaguers get King Felix. Hours later they ink Jacoby Ellsbury to .7 year deal, all is well in Red Sox Nation.....
Wouldn't that be nice.......
9c - your post started out oh so nice....then you mentioned, megadeal...
