The Orioles scored early and often against Stewart (2.2-7-5-0-1, 48) and swept the three-game series. Baltimore remained tied for first place in the AL East with the Yankees, who rallied from a four-run deficit and beat the Blue Jays 9-6.

All of Boston's runs came via the long ball. Cody Ross hit a solo shot in the fourth and Daniel Nava whacked a two-run dong in the sixth. Ryan Lavarnway and Pedro Ciriaco each had two hits, including a double.

The Red Sox wrap up the regular season with three games in New York, beginning tomorrow night. The Orioles will be in Tampa Bay.

  2. It was sort of discussed here, but I think the upshot is: they play a one-game playoff.

    Pitching Zach Stewart today and saving Clay for NY with an extra day of rest may have been Bobby V's best strategic move of the year...
