I still don't get why they didn't resign Salty. The contract he ultimately signed for is really pretty modest. (Especially when you consider the money per year that guys like Dempster was making.)
ReplyDeleteBest case scenario is that the catching prospects on the farm pan out exactly as they hope. If that happened, I don't think it would've been impossible to get another team to take the Salty contract off our hands. I don't understand all these talking points I keep hearing in the media about how the front office had no choice but to show Salty the door because he would somehow prevent Swihart and Vasquez from developing.
