ReplyDeleteBoston's back-to-back wins over Kansas City mark the first time that the Red Sox have won both of their first two games after the All-Star break since 1996, when that year's squad (managed by Kevin Kennedy) came out of the break with five straight wins. That 17-year streak (1997-2013) without winning the first two games after the All-Star break was the longest by an American League team since the All-Star Game began in 1933.
