Needs a link to the right - what a beautiful resource.
ReplyDeleteGood idea! I'll add one now.
ReplyDeleteI recently agreed to write recaps of the seven 1986 ALCS games for a book SABR is publishing on the 1986 Red Sox - and was happy to find all 7 games online. Then I noticed a few more games ... and a few more ... and started a list ...
As soon as I saw mlb had put some full games on there, I thought about making a big list of them. Of course I never did. Glad someone's doing it! What they should do at retrosheet and/or the other places is have a "video" link on the boxscores of games with vids.
ReplyDeleteFor the '86 ALCS, did you see the link I put up a while back to the original Boston Phoenix coverage of that year's postseason? Interesting contemporary accounts from an off-center perspective, don't know if it would help you with recaps though.
No, I never saw that. What was the link? Is it still working? I have some of the original articles because I was able to buy the Phoenix in Burlington, VT during that postseason.
ReplyDeleteI wish all of the 2007 Red Sox postseason games were available, but some of the Cleveland games are not up.
ReplyDeleteGreat resource for years to come. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHere's the link to the Phoenix archives via Google News Archive, just go to '86 and start clicking.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this, would love to watch that 1999 game 4 23 run outburst but this is awesome. Have been wanting to watch the 99 playoffs for a long time and 03 as well!!!
ReplyDeleteSO many of these games have been taken down. The ones posted by MLB are still there but not many of the others. So lame.
