Since August 6, Jackie Bradley is hitting .411/.469/.849 (81 PA).

Interim manager Torey Lovullo said that Hanley Ramirez will likely not play in the outfield for the rest of the season because the team wants to give maximum playing time to Bradley, Mookie Betts and Rusney Castillo.

From Jon Shestakofsky:
Mookie Betts is the first Red Sox player with 50 extra-base hits in a season before turning 23 years old since Jim Rice in 1975.

50 XBH IN A SEASON, AGE 22 OR YOUNGER:
2013 - Machado & Trout
2014 - Trout
2015 - Betts & Harper
Betts is on pace for 63 extra-base hits, which (according to Alex Speier) would be the most by a Red Sox player that young since Carl Yastrzemski had 68 in 1962.

  1. Alex Speier:
"Xander Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with his fifth homer of the year to improve his line to .319/.349/.414. He has 15 three-hit games, tied for the third-most in the American League (leaders Jose Altuve and Jason Kipnis have 17), putting him on pace to become the 12th shortstop ever and the first since Alex Rodriguez in 1996 to post at least a .315 average and .750 OPS at age 22 or younger. His ability to hit for average on a consistent basis has elevated Bogaerts into rare company. By hitting .312 in June, .371 in July, and .324 in August, Bogaerts joined Rodriguez (June-August, 1996) and Ken Griffey Jr. (July-September, 1992) as the only players ever to hit .310 or better in three straight months at age 22 or younger, according to Elias. Meanwhile, the ball he sent screaming over the Green Monster offered a reminder that there is considerable raw power into which he eventually may tap."
