Steven Wright has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a left knee sprain that apparently occurred during his start against the Cubs last Saturday.
Wright has an 8.25 ERA in five starts this season. Although the Red Sox called up Brandon Workman from Pawtucket, there is no word on who will start in Wright's place on Thursday in Baltimore.
Manager John Farrell: "It was [Sunday] that he felt it, more than anything. He didn't feel it during his outing against the Cubs. This is somewhat of an ailment in the knee he's been feeling off and on since spring training."
