And that record was broken on March 27.
And that record was broken on March 28.
But Donald Trump remains focused on what truly matters during this national emergency:
Trump brags about how his press briefings about a deadly pandemic that is killing Americans get ratings comparable to "The Bachelor" or "Monday Night Football" pic.twitter.com/d3WCvQpSDL

The Lamestream Media wants us to fail. That will NEVER happen!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 29, 2020
Polls are showing tremendous disapproval of Lamestream Media coverage of the Virus crisis. The Fake News just hasn’t figured that out yet!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 29, 2020
Because the “Ratings” of my News Conferences etc. are so high, “Bachelor finale, Monday Night Football type numbers” according to the @nytimes, the Lamestream Media is going CRAZY. “Trump is reaching too many people, we must stop him.” said one lunatic. See you at 5:00 P.M.!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 29, 2020

We'll never know the actual number of cases -- or the number of deaths -- since there's practically no testing available.
ReplyDeleteThere will be indirect deaths, too -- eg, people who have a heart attack or stroke, and can't get care because hospitals are overcrowded with covid cases. This could potentially be a lot of people.
Trump cites the Times' article that mentions ratings, but neglects to point out its criticism of his leadership as the cases and deaths pile up throughout the US.
ReplyDeleteSo much for that beautiful Easter timeline. Maybe the cure is NOT worse than the disease.
ReplyDelete"Trump said Sunday that the federal government's guidelines for social distancing would last until April 30, backing down from his previous comments that he hoped the country could go back to work by Easter."
Trump also thinks medical workers may be selling protective masks "out the back door". He said this on TV.
The King of Projection. Trump would sell masks out the back door, so he assumes other people would do it, too. He makes shit up all the time based on no evidence, so he assumes the media does, too. He cares more about TV ratings than human lives, and since his way is the only right way, he assumes that it is okay to express that sentiment in public.
