deGrom Sets MLB Record: 12 Consecutive Starts With One Or Zero Earned Runs (ERA: 0.50)

With his five shutout innings on Monday, Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom posted his 12th consecutive start in which he allowed one or zero earned runs. It's the longest single-season streak by a traditional starting pitcher in major league history.

deGrom passed bob Gibson, who had 11 straight starts with one or zero earned runs in 1968, when he finished the season with a 1.12 ERA. deGrom's ERA is now 0.50 and he has not allowed a run in his last 30 innings.

0.50! . . . His ERA+ is 777! . . . How is that even possible after 12 starts?
