If no one wins this one, it better be because the Red Sox won 96+ games.

I have to believe that they will get at least 84 wins. If not, we'll...
NOT be Happy !!!!!
84 wins was me trying to be as positive as I could possibly be, but pessimism is very on-brand for me. My parades are always wet, my glasses are 9/10s empty, my default feelings about the Red Sox were set in stone sometime around 1960....
In Game 1 of today's doubleheader against the Cardinals, I swear Lou Merloni said something like "I bet a hundred dollars is going to pitch tonight." So, a la our old game threads and giving players funny nicknames, I vote either "hundred dollars" or "c note" for Hunter Dobbins.
I'm of a similar mindset John & at 1-4, it ALREADY wasn't looking too flash ...... But things appear to be somewhat on the improve ?
We can be optimistic - at least in April !!!
I can't hear 'dobbin' without thinking of a slow, lazy, goodnatured, easygoing horse, and so, yeah, Dobbins definitely needs a nickname to scrub that image out of my mind, because who wants a dobbin for a pitcher? Looking for a racehorse, not a plowhorse!
Interesting start... an opening day win, then four straight losses, now five straight wins... luckily, I got to witness the first two wins in the home opening series and my daughter and her boyfriend caught the thumping the Sox gave the Red Birds last night!
Looks like we have a four-way tie for the final record (89-73). Now what?
I win! Finally got one right!
Well, shit! . . . And I half-assed it and did not bother with a tiebreaker.
I could do my "I"ll buy you a reasonably priced baseball book" idea.
I also have a box full of DLUWT paperbacks . . . .
I fear I already have a copy of DLUWT (as every good reader of this blog ought) but if you are offering a reasonably priced baseball book I shall gladly take you up on it!
