Red Sox - 003 001 020 000 - 6 9 1
Blue Jays - 000 200 040 001 - 7 10 0
I think I'm glad I missed this one. Followed along for the first five or six innings, then got busy, and could only check in every 15 minutes or so.

Nice to see Manny is back to being Manny.

And please, Theo, either leave Rudy Seanez at the border or toss him out of the plans over Lake Ontario. RSN thanks you in advance.

5:30 PM -- Back at work today after missing all of last weekend with the flu. The Red Sox start a three-game series at the Skydome, maybe 10 blocks from where I'm typing this. With luck, I'll be able to follow along on line.

  1. 123 inning... come on guys make some noise.... let's not score a measly single run like last night.

  2. Well, Peter, he makes dreams come true and his name is David Ortiz.

O's 3-run inning (all BI'ed with 2 runs) against Wang didn't hurt my feelings either. Millar starts it off with a double.

  3. Aha! And Manny's homerless streak won't keep me up nights any more.

  4. grrrrumble.
k i'm trying to just look at the good things about the game: another red sox top web gem (amazing play from lowell), manny gets his 1st homerun of the season and then gets another! *applause*, papi homering always rulez, tek gets his 1st hr of the season, papelbon was great.

but i just go 'what???' when francona does the things he does sometimes. foulke gets the first two outs in the bottom of the 8th, walks a guy on a borderline pitch, so francona decides to swiftly remove him from the game to put seanez in.

  5. I agree with Brian. Set-up men in our bullpen to be trusted are as few as lakes in the Sahara, with Foulkie standing and shining in the role. I hope his knees don't continue to degrade. Oh boy, would that be bad. And 2 commenters with the first name Peter. I'm the one with an "N." Have to win today....

  6. After the walk that was really an inning-ending strikeout, Foulke had thrown 37 pitches, so I guess that was a factor.

Anyone have an opinion about Beckett hitting Hill in the 8th? He denied any malice, naturally, but a columnist in the Globe & Mail this morning was 101% sure it was intentional. If so, Beckett needs to start thinking of the team before acting out his macho bullshit.
