True, I didn't think of that 9casey. I'm guessing Phelps, since they'll want Mientkiewicz playing on first. They won't DH Melky because he's hitting .284/.306/.224 and Cairo is hitting .263/.125/.125 so he's out too.
All they have to do is put Shef at DH and Abreu out in right... oh wait, they let go of Shef because Abreu had like two good months so they assumed everything was fine, and now Shef has 10 more HR and is hitting 40 points higher than Abreu, and has slightly better numbers than Giambi. That's right, I forgot.
But yeah, Giambi is always a big threat to walk. Plus I just don't like to see his reptilian face. Glad we won't be seeing him...
Definitely Curt in that pic, the mouth gave it away. Also, no mammoth goatee.
Youk is still not as well known as Manny/Papi/Schilling. That's why they're featured on the cover. Give him time. He'll get his own attention soon enough.
The News knows if they put Youk on there, they'd have 2 million Yankee fans asking them who the goatee'd guy is. And when they answer Kevin Youkilis, they'd get 2 million more people asking "whos that?"

Most of them would write "whos that". The rest of them would write "whos this Youklis" guy or find some other way to incorrectly spell his name.
ReplyDeleteNot only retains a high OPS in a poor-to-mediocore year, Giambi also has that ability to get hot. He was absolutely scary the first part of last year.
