  4. Bing Crosby proving his uselessness in the 9 spot today.

  5. I want to use the phrase "Gumball Rally" tonight. Make it so.

Dear A's: If you win, we'll be in second place. We'd like that. Sincerely, RSN

    ReplyDelete
  6. This game would be over now if they didn't take out Jack Cust.

    ReplyDelete
  7. We're tied for 2nd for the moment. The outcome of the MFYs' current game will change that one way or another.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yuck.

Looks like that system is just going to mingle there for awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Worst-case scenario in my house tonight is watch the Bruins on the main television and the Rangers/Caps game on the little TV. Rather than the Red Sox.

That would be good news for those who don't have NESN Plus. Not to mention the poor picture quality on some carriers.

  10. Fucking exam at 6:30, I'm hoping it doesn't take the full time and I can get out in time to see the end of the game.

14 comments on here, to 14 innings go the As-MFYs

  11. Listening to the Yankees radio... They have Mark Feinsand of the Daily News on each game in the fifth inning. They had him come back up for the 14th for the Daily News Fifth... Again.

  12. Definitely prefer the yahoo game tracker to that piece of shit they have on MLB.com, there's so much garbage in it I have no idea what's going on in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Last night I checked out NHL.com's gameday live concoction and was pleasantly surprised by it. Interesting individual stats updated real time - and they even provide radio broadcasts for free.

  14. I hate GDGD, but it's still better than the alternatives in my experience.

All that super bonus extra expensive crap on the left side of the screen can be minimized so it stays out of your way.

  15. Still tied in the middle of the 14th.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Swisher's batting. What're the odds we see him pitching next inning?

    ReplyDelete
  17. "That's the Melky Way!" Sterling's call on the dong.

    Milk Dong.

  18. Any news on the weather/game? Extra Bases and SoSH are quiet.

    I know. That's why I was asking. :>/

  22. Hi all. Had the game on at work today, but I was too busy to stop by here and say hi. Now I'm the radio until 8 and then again at 10. Hopefully there'll be some ball I can spot in between.

  27. Nothing says Earth Day like a fucking shamrock.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Uh, we're turning into the fucking Mets with how many uniforms we have now. Disgraceful.

    ReplyDelete
  29. twins start calling lf wall a baggy --then stopped!

nice lyndon liner, though it was an out

    ReplyDelete
  30. "... hitting the ball off that bag--- umm, well, that's not really a baggy, is it? the left field wall."

    ReplyDelete
  31. If only that part of the ballpark had a name.

    ReplyDelete
  32. During Game 1, L and I were wondering if Pesky and his wife ever made jokes about Pesky's "pole"? She thought absolutely.

    ReplyDelete
  33. "Drew looks so bored."

    The sky is blue.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That was a "GUMBALL RALLY"!

    WEEI Math:

    fired up + outs > bored + .400 OBP

    ReplyDelete
  35. The fuck train is making multiple stops in Dongtown.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The combo of these uni's and the red sox shows that the away uni's can be worn with red sox. I'm talking the regular away jerseys.

    ReplyDelete
  37. A lot of offense this year. I smell some new type of steroids.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Love the DP. Wish Dave Roberts would keep talking, though.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Shit, I'm missing that.

Maybe make a note to look at MLBTV archive?

    ReplyDelete
  40. what is that annoying dance song that they play now after home runs? They play this same song around the league, and I hate the fact that Fenway os doing it now too. Does anyone know what it is?

    ReplyDelete
  41. replay shows lyndon's foot getting in - twins say "head first slide"

    ReplyDelete
  42. opposite field for ortiz = good.

    ReplyDelete
  43. what is this hockey on my screen? I switched over to the MLB network and the sox were on! for 2 minutes!

apparently we're up. GDGD here I come.

    ReplyDelete
  44. twins tv are obsessed with how hard twins are hitting the ball. OBSESSED. especially since they have only one run.

    ReplyDelete
  45. twins are "ABSOLUTELY MASHING THE BALL AGAINST PENNY"

    give it up boys.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I like Green's bat and all, but DAMN he sucks at fielding. (5 errors now)

    ReplyDelete
  47. was that a hard hit ball?

    twins tv: (crickets)

    ReplyDelete
  48. got 'em back in a hurry!!!

    fuck thw twins

    ReplyDelete
  49. It's so nice to get runs back after giving them up.

Hell, it's nice just to get runs. We're getting so many more this week.

    ReplyDelete
  50. "Hell, it's nice just to get runs. We're getting so many more this week."

I think they've been more patient at the plate lately; that probably helps.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think they've been more patient at the plate lately; that probably helps.

More just that our BABIP is regressing to the mean.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Also facing the Orioles' worst pitching in the league helps.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I bet Jere has a good shot of Bailey's dong.

    ReplyDelete
  54. "More just that our BABIP is regressing to the mean."

    Touché.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Somewhere in Florida, Julio Lugo curses his TV.

    ReplyDelete
  57. young didnt even know he was "hit" - fuckin ump

    ReplyDelete
  58. Just getting in, and no reception for NESNplus here. But I see we are ahead again!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Boy, sure is quiet here. I guess two games in one day is too much for some people!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Also Jere's at the game, and he's like 20% of our offense.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hey everyone. Just finished watching the Bruins SWEEP the Canadiens. Life is good. Had the Red Sox on the little TV in the living room all evening so I kept a close eye on that, too. Life really is good! And how about Gumball dong, eh?

    I'm having a great night.

One thing that's funny is my NESN Plus channel is about five seconds delayed. I was so confused at first because normally it's about a half-second delay.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hey, Ish. No NESNplus here, as predicted. :( But I was out til almost ten anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  63. "Watching" Pap on the computer is just not the same.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hopefully the schedule moving forward will mean no more Bruins Red Sox overlaps. Time Warner Cable here put NESN Plus on a channel with terrible, terrible picture and sound. It looks like I'm watching in a dream. I can't even continue watching it, so I'm listening to it on the radio.

At least on the little TV the picture was ok.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Twins PBP just called 2004 Boston's "first world championship".

    So did Bert.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Amy, the game is now back on NESN.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thanks, Ish, I was just going to ask about that.

    ReplyDelete
  68. They just switched it back. Well, it's on NESN Plus as well. So you can see a quick replay of the pitch, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I LOVED that slow-motion replay of the ball hitting the umpire's mask.

    ReplyDelete
  70. With today's game, Wake is oldest starter ever to pitch B2B CG!

So sez Twins TV, but they are also dumb as shit.

    ReplyDelete
  71. What's with the green caps??

    ReplyDelete
  72. See what I missed not having a picture.

    Two away.

    ReplyDelete
  73. So after a 2-6 start, Sox have gone 7-0!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I think Don just said 1913 was the last time... I don't know if a doubleheader in general or a Red Sox doubleheader was rain-shortened for Game 1 and played a full Game 2.

    Or something.

    ReplyDelete
  75. So after a 2-6 start, Sox have gone 7-0!Twins feed must be 1 out ahead of NESN! Haha

    ReplyDelete
  76. Can someone explain the green caps and weird jerseys??

    ReplyDelete
  77. Boston is FLOODED with dirty water!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I have no idea about the green unis either. Earth day?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Yes! Nice day for baseball, despite all the rain.

    Bring on the Yankees!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Wasn't Earth Day April 20?

No, 4/20 is a different green holiday.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Green Sox: Maybe they lost a bet.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Maybe Penny made a peculiar request.

Hey I'd like green jerseys tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  83. FKR take a quick 3-0 lead in the first.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm going to settle in for some more hockey. Blackhawks and Flames. Versus showing the TSN feed so I feel like I'm in Canada a little bit.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Had to look that one up, Benjamin.

Sometimes I am just so out of the loop it scares me.

    Also, Hitler's birthday.

    ReplyDelete
  86. "Also Jere's at the game, and he's like 20% of our offense."

    Haha!

One of these days I'll have the technology to post here from games--finally getting a cell phone might be the first step. But now I'm dead set to making it to 2010 without one.

I left around 4:30, and sure enough, the traffic at that time, plus rain, made me not arrive till 6:30--but I got a spot right away so it was perfect...until they delayed the game an hour. But I did get to sit in the front row of the Monsters ALL game--LOTS of empty seats.

Why? is there some cosmic earth shattering reason......

Red Sox and Twins getting a lot of flack on how yesterday was handled...

    ReplyDelete
  88. "finally getting a cell phone might be the first step"

    A shocking development!

    ReplyDelete
  89. "But I did get to sit in the front row of the Monsters ALL game"

    Wow! Cool.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Good games. I had to work during the first one. Luckily my job yesterday consisted solely of WATCHING THE SOX GAME!
