Schadenfreude 84 (A Continuing Series)

Anthony Mccarron, Daily News:
Rodriguez drove in the team's first run of the game with an RBI single, but made three crucial outs in his other at-bats, stranding five runners with a double play and two strikeouts. He was booed each time by many in the crowd of 44,452, the loudest jeers coming after he struck out with one out and Nick Swisher at first in the eighth.
Mike Puma, Post:
Take your choice, getting attached to a waterboard or watching replays of Andy Pettitte's last two starts.

Something isn't right with Pettitte, who simply can't find the strike zone. ...

The Yanks ... fell into a first-place tie with Boston in the AL East. They will try to get back on track today with Chien-Ming Wang making his first start in six weeks, replacing Phil Hughes in the rotation.

  2. WTF? The MFY's have had a fantastic winning streak lately and their fucktard fans boo them on this loss? Jeez, worst case scenario they're tied with the Red Sox for first place right now. Damn those are pissy little fans.

  3. Nah, not very excited. But as you say, it has been awhile -- almost three weeks.

    Thanks for visiting!

  4. I found the negativety interesting, too, but not surprising. No offense but the Boston media seems to go ape every time the Sox lose back-to-back.

BTW, redsock, I saw two SEPARATE comic strips in the past couple of weeks that mentioned the concept of schadenfreude. Fans of your blog, perhaps?

  5. I don't boo at all...I think it's ridiculous and really daft for fans to boo a team that has been winning so much when they have 1 bad game....it's incredibly stupid. I think it's way too early to anticipate the impact of the standings...lets wait and see how things shake out in August before we start worrying about 1st.....A 1 game lead made me feel ZERO comfort
