Canadian Seabass

The Red Sox grabbed infielder Tug Hulett, who was DFAd by the Royals last week.

  1. Last time Seabass left the Red Sox during the off-season, the Sox won the World Series. Just sayin.

  2. But so for those who don't read wmtc, we were detained, harrassed, and threatened at at the US border for two hours on Monday.

  3. I just read the wmtc account. OMG, I'm so sorry L had to go through that. It all seemed so unnecessary and meant to harass. I'm glad you are well, and hope someone in power reads her blog and is influenced by it in a way that is good for you.

  4. Yikes. Something similar happened to a roommate of mine, who as far as I know isn't involved in anything political. I don't think he was questioned as much as put in a waiting room for a few hours coming back to NY from Canada. No one would tell him anything.

It sounds like Kafka's The Trial, or Nabakov's Invitation to a Beheading. A lot of mouths that the brain doesn't control, gnashing their teeth, lunging about, looking for something to eat. It's confusing.

  5. Two people wandered into JoS via this search string:

"red sox trade manny rodriguez to the dodgers"

  6. So, that's one HELL of a story.
Sorry you had to go through that.
Nothing like the "land of the free", eh?

  7. So, redsock, are you gonna have a post about Bud Selig stepping down in 2012?

  8. If by "post" you mean party, yes.

    If it happens.

  9. Selig will be gone no doubt about it. I don't think he was that bad though. Wild card and increased international attention for the game were good things. The whole steroid and all-star game episode will be his legacy though.

  10. Hey guys, thanks for the support. It was quite an adventure. Since it ended well, I'm glad I experienced it. And I hope I never do again.

  11. Did you notice the tease line on the latest headline in the Daily News about Halladay? It clearly insinuates he would waive his no-trade clause ONLY if a deal is done with the Yankees, but the story itself says that is "unclear".
