The Red Sox haveacquired outfielder Jeremy Hermida from the Marlins for left-handed pitchers Hunter Jones and Jose Alvarez (who spent 2009 in A ball). [SoSH]
Also: Fernando Cabrera, Joey Gathright and Nick Green have been optioned to Pawtucket.
Theo said they "bought low" on Hermida, not having to pay much to get him, and he's a guy who has untapped potential. He was a former high draft pick who hasn't fulfilled that potential yet and the Red Sox think he can with us. Or something.
We trade 2 guys for Hermedia, and the Twins get JJ Hardy for Carlos Gomez straight up.......unbeleivable.....I wonder if the twins trade Hardy for Hermedia?
Man, that's instilling a proper Yankee attitude at an EARLY age. I approve. I hope we sign Bay. I really like hime. Hermida can replace Rocky, be traded for a comparable righty, or be part of a deal to get a bigger bat. Not bad for the cost

Even if they felt that way secretly, they would never say so publicly. That would be dumb. And I don't recall Theo ever saying that.
