Red Sox - 410 300 000 - 8 12 1Another fun day from the Supposedly Hitless Wonders.
Royals - 111 000 03x - 6 10 1
Ellsbury singled, doubled, stole a base, and scored twice; Pedroia went 4-for-5, and hit his 3rd home run of the year; Martinez singled, doubled, walked, scored twice, and drive in one; Beltre singled twice, doubled, and drove in three; Hermida had a two-run single in the first inning; and Youkilis walked twice and stole a base.
Ortiz did not have a fun day. He walked and scored in the first, but then struck out in his subsequent four plate appearances, two swinging and then two looking. Flo is now 2-for-18, with nine strikeouts. In his last 11 plate appearances, he has fanned eight times.
Ellsbury collided with Beltre in foul territory in the ninth inning and left the game. He was sliding in to make the catch and Beltre's right knee struck him in the chest. If either player called the other one off, it wasn't loud enough.
Buchholz (5-7-3-2-1, 94) struggled and could not get into a rhythm. Delcarmen pitched two innings, allowing only a walk. Bard retired three in a row int he eighth after Ramirez allowed KC to come back within two runs. Papelbon's ninth was interrupted by the collision, but he set the Royals down in order.Clay Buchholz / Gil Meche
Both pitchers are making their 2010 debut.
Back on September 24, Buchholz turned in a 6-5-0-0-8, 109 line against the Royals in KC. Meche is coming off the disabled list (shoulder bursitis).

Drew has a stiff neck. Hall makes his debut.
Doesn't look good for me to see much of this one. I could have NESN in my ear, but I've got some transcribing.
Will this work... maybe...
I have the game in my ear, can listen to the whole thing, but I doubt I'll be able to thread. Enjoy.
GO SOX!
And we're down again..
DUHHHH I'm not awake yet I read the marker for the top of the 1st as the score.
Looks like LBJ scored on a blue light single.
I was not familiar with the gamescore boxes on mlb tv
Blue Light... remind me?
whoo-hoo! 2-0
Beltre scores V-Mart w/ a hit to right
here we go... 4-0...
4-0 now!
I like it. Empty your mind, HH, and pitch.
Hall you blockhead
That reminds me. I was completely surprised to see that Hall was not the white guy I had mentally pictured him as.
FY!!!! 5-1.
4 run lead again!
you can't win with those powder blue unis, you just can't.
Lyndon hearts KC.
So what happened in the OF? Sounded ugly.
'Bill Hall' does sound pretty white bread....
Don't the Royals have a knuckleballer named Martinez? I thought he was thier long man.
Hall ignored LBJ calling the ball and caused an error, Posednick scored
So it was Hall's bungling, not LBJ's. Radio guys weren't sure.
C'mon Papi!
:<(
ugh
sox strand a pair and a half.
Ugh, yeah, majorly.
well, fuck.
Guillen dong
my computer is freaking me out. i think i must have closed mlbtv -- there is nothing down by the start menu and the screen is not open in any window, but i can hear don's voice.

Your computer has become Don.
He is a bit of a robot.
KC keeps chipping away..

That ball was headed for his face and not only does he hit a fair ball, he hits a dong.
Blue light ground rule double
Apparently Pedroia just missed getting free burritos for all of KC

Beltless trenchcoat? The Executive?
Yo Adrian "The Executive" Belt-ray's a-pizzzzaaa
An H&H for HH
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, H&H ....
Oh. Okay.
I think I'll pass on that nickname! :)
Nice pick by the Exec
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, H&H
Was about to type that! Hey, I can get one of those this week. Yum.
god this pisses me off--"everyone" wondering where the home runs are gonna come from....not, "a few crazy people and the media who like to stir up shit," but "everyone"
Well, sure. "Everyone" sings GBA, everyone cares about Tiger Woods, everyone cares about college basketball... and whatever else We The Media talk about.
Greetings. I guess RS is hoping for a scoreless bottom of the 6th, then 1 each in 7, 8, and 9 for KC ;>
nice grab!!!!
Caught Looking?
mider maid an out
The Executive didn't Produce there
Two 3U DPs today
FY rakin'.
FY's on fire
Good afternoon. I am hoping not to jinx the game again by threading. Five run lead means we SHOULD be safe.
Wanting to hit a "dislike" button right now
strongly "dislike"
DamnDamn
Hmm.
Shit, ram-ram
Bleah.
What were you saying??
Uch.

98 mph fastball then a 85 mph slider - nastiness.

Tala sighting at the music blog A Truer Sound!
Hi all, rainy Sunday here in Northern California. Can we win this game please?
even an medium-sized father would be nice now.
4 strikeouts, ugh.
no way ortiz can keep batting ahead of drew. it's insane. tiz has got to be no higher than 7th.
make it quick, bot.
I am closing my eyes.
jesus.
Oh SHIT
Shit, is he ok??
i think he got a knee in the chest
Ellsbury's got to call the infielder off better. That's twice this game, and this one might hurt.
What's with the fielding in our great defense? First, Hall, and then this?
drew in rf, hall to left
Josh Reddick, call Delta Airlines for your flight to Minneapolis.
He does not look good.
On Fire is always ready.
what's up?
At least Pap is looking solid today.
Dirty!
Interesting, Westcoast, you think Ellsbury wasn't calling them off?
series W
The water is Muddy!!!
WATER!
OK, going to eat dinner. Can't see comments anyway with the delay. :(
Dirty Water but we may be down a starter.
Just dropping in to say: woohoo! Dirty water!
(P.S. Is LBJ OK?)
Have no idea. The KC announcers when I was listening to XM earlier didn't think he called Hall off.
Sit LBJ tomorrow and have an extra rest day on Tuesday?
Nice to see bot get a 1-2-3 innin
EB will have something asap.
Blue Jays now 5-1.
Love that dirty water! I hope LBJ is ok.
Do you think he needs any help...?
the Supposedly Hitless Wonders
This is it! The SHW, or the SHW Club. You may have just provided us with nickname for the whole season.
Of course, it was inevitable.
Amy, could you not see comments even after refreshing?
Not zippy enough.
Abraham:
"Jacoby Ellsbury has a rib contusion after that collision in the ninth inning. X-rays were negative. Ellsbury said he is sore and initially feared he had broken some ribs after he crashed into Adrian Beltre as both were chasing a foul ball. No word on when he'll play, but it could be a few days."
Very zippy! But this is better:
THWs. The Hitless Wonders. The "supposedly" is silent.
