Bill Hall doubled to dead center to start the 10th inning and he scored on Eric Patterson's single to center.

Boston had tied the game with two runs in the eighth, the second coming on an 11-pitch bases-loaded walk by Kevin Cash.

Matsuzaka (5-3-4-5-6, 104) allowed the leadoff runner to reach base in all five of his innings.

    There's a woman I know who flew up here from Orlando to go to this game.
