FJM? Done!

"[Joe] Morgan's contract is expiring and he will not be renewed."
Jon Miller's contract is also up, though he may remain as the radio voice of Sunday Night Baseball. Miller and Morgan have been annoying the crap out of baseball fans for 21 (?!?!?) long years. No longer.Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord.

(Thanks, Ish, for alerting me to this blessed event.)

  3. Sorry, was playing with different gifs. Now, seeing your first comment he is back.

  4. I'm happy for Morgan. This leaves him more time for ass slapping.

  5. Fantastic news! I'm doing a Snoopy happy dance as I type. The FJM guys deserve a knighthood.

  6. (Mr. Burns) Excellent.

Before you all get too giddy, keep in mind the replacements will be nearly as bad...probably Sut?

  7. Not everyone is celebrating. Milton Kent, for example.

"Morgan ... has, despite the carping of some bloggers, been one of the best analysts in sports television"

  9. Double happiness for me---no more silly comments from Morgan and, better yet, no more listening to that annoying, arrogant, and Yankee loving Miller!

And by nearly as bad, you must mean worse!

Seriously though, I don't care either way about this news. I'm not a fan of Joe Morgan's, but I don't think he ruins the broadcast more than half a dozen other mediots, like Sutcliffe, McCarver, and many others. As Tim suggests, it's not like Morgan will be replaced by the second coming of Vin Scully.

For me, this is a big "whatever".

And no more listening to Amy complain about Jon Miller! Whoo-hoo, there is a reason to celebrate! ;)

    Hee hee.

  12. Yes, but let the record be clear: I do not complain about the other announcers or the omnipresent commercials and advertising like some people do around here! I didn't even complain about Morgan---just found him silly. (I do hate John Sterling, but fortunately only have to hear him very, very rarely.)

    :)
