More 2012 Sims

Another simulation of the 2012 season, run by SG over at RLYW. If I recall, he runs either 1,000 or 10,000 seasons and this is the average.

  1. Cafardo's mailbag begins:

Is Cody Ross a good player?
    Alex, Washington, DC

I've always liked Ross' dirt dog style. ...

  4. Should we start calling Ross "Eckstein 2.0" just to save time?

It's amazing, isn't it? It's exactly what I was writing about a while back, re people posting questions on Yahoo Answers or Ask.com and other stupid sites.

Unless "Alex, Washington, DC" respects Nick Cafardo's opinion so much and just wanted to hear what he had to say about Cody Ross. In which case, he's a moron, and he gets the information he deserves.

  6. Hey, Bob Costas! How can we miss you if you won't go away (or stfu)?

Just kidding. We'll never miss your pompous soap box blatherings.

  7. SoSH, Yesterday:
Gammons just said on NESN that after talking to Boras today, Jax has 3, 2 and 1 year deals on the table with the 1-year deal the most likely. He wants to be on a team that will win and give him run support. "Has a good feeling" about EJ and Boston.

Cherington: 'We wouldn't rule out adding a starter but I think it's unlikely at this point.'

More Cherington: 'I wouldn't expect any major changes between now and the report date"

  9. Nicaragua Dispatch:

On Jan. 30, Managua’s Second Penal Court clipped [Vicente] Padilla’s passport and issued a capture order for his arrest after he failed to appear for a second court date to face accusations that he’s neglecting child support obligations, according to the daily La Prensa.

Padilla, whose largest contract was a $33-million, three-year deal signed with Texas in 2006, is being accused of failing to pay $540 a month in child support for his 10th kid, who is three years old. Padilla recently signed a $1.5 million minor league contract with the Red Sox.
