Sean McAdam and Steven Krasner report that Jacoby Ellsbury will replace Coco Crisp (.143 in the ALCS and .161 in the post-season) in center field tonight. He'll bat eighth.
The Sox also considered putting Alex Cora at second base in place of Dustin Pedroia -- which would have moved Ellsbury to the leadoff spot.
The team has yet to make an official announcement on any lineup switch.
That's my boy!
ReplyDeleteNow we're talking! I don't agree with putting Cora in though. Pedroia hit really well the other night. So I hope only the first part of that is true.
ReplyDeleteYay to Ellsbury! Boo to possible switching Dusty for Cora! He's not better!
ReplyDeleteEllsbury = Yes
ReplyDeleteCora = No
WOOO JACOBY! BOO CORA!
ReplyDeleteDitto, ditto. I thought they might do this, finally, in CF. But there's no reason to take Dustin out.

Same message applies.
Manny buys you a new suit = more hits!
ReplyDeleteWas there any reasoning given for pulling The Midget for Cora? Completely out of ignorance here: If they want Lyndon to lead off then why can't Pedroia bat 8th?
ReplyDeleteI guess they thought Justin wasn't hitting, though he did get two hits in Game 5.
ReplyDelete8th was where Coco was hitting so having Lyndon there keeps the rest of the lineup the same. Maybe having him there will help Lugo get a fastball he can hit.
Oh yes: LBJ yes, Einstein no.
ReplyDeleteCORA FOR LUGO! NOT FUCK YEAH!
ReplyDeleteWell said Nixon, but we found out Lugo discovered the importance of bunting. Does Cora?
ReplyDeleteCorrection: *Did Cora?*
ReplyDeleteas napoleon dynamite was heard to say, "YUSSS."
