Athletics - 000 000 010 000 - 1 7 0Jason Bay (#44) scored both runs as the Red Sox win in extras!
Red Sox - 010 000 000 001 - 2 11 2
Bay - who received a long standing ovation when he came to the plate in the second inning -- reached based in four of his six plate appearances.
He walked and scored in the second, was hit in the back by a pitch in the fourth, struck out in the sixth and eighth, walked in the tenth, and then tripled with two out in the twelfth.
After J.D. Drew was intentionally walked, Jed Lowrie chopped a grounder that Oakland shortstop Bobby Crosby could not make a clean play on and Bay scored the winning run.
Wakefield (6.1-4-0-3-4, 108) was superb and the bullpen was solid.
Tampa Bay beat Detroit 5-2 and Los Angeles shutout New York 1-0, so the Red Sox stay 3 GB and the Yankees fall to 5.5 GB.

Justin Duchscherer (2.37, 165 ERA+) / Tim Wakefield (3.94, 112 ERA+)
A wise man once said: "The players come, the players go, we stay."
... and so the Jason Bay era begins.
And it begins against perhaps the best pitcher in baseball. In 16 of his 18 starts, Duchscherer has allowed two or fewer earned runs (on May 24, he threw a 8-1-0-0-4 line at the Red Sox).
Duchscherer leads the major league in ERA, WHIP (0.94, one of only two starters under 1.00), fewest hits allowed per 9 IP (6.96), lowest opponents average (.199) and lowest opponents slugging percentage (.309). He is a close second among MLB starters in lowest opponents on-base percentage (.255, with Dan Haren at .253).
In the six games of this homestand, the Sox are 1-5 with a .240/.303/.375 batting line. In the 12 games since the All-Star Game, they are hitting .241/.330/.360 and have slipped from .5 GA to 3 GB.

(On base plus slugging, adjusted for park and league factors)
The difference is negligible I think. Throw in Bay's speed and intelligence on the basepaths and I think he's a damn good replacement in terms of the numbers. If the rest of the team was annoyed by Manny, hopefully now that this is done they'll be able to focus on playing the game and winning some ballgames.
Yeah, even when further adjusting for the weaker NL. Plus, Bay is 7 years younger and he'll free up $$ for next year's roster.
ReplyDeleteBeing Mannyless sucks, but Theo was able to grab a very nice replacement.
let try winning one.
ReplyDeleteAt least we didn't trade him for 10 bats.
ReplyDeleteManny traded for a Zagnut and a swift kick in the ass. "Manny's goin' deep tonight."
ReplyDeletePRESS CONFERENCE 3:45pm
ReplyDeleteTHEO & TITO WILL ADDRESS THE MEDIA
Thanks! Since I'm at work, any info will be appreciated. (I imagine SoSH and Extra Bases will have stuff quickly also.)
ReplyDeleteSong pick of the day:
ReplyDeleteJourney to the end of the east bay by Rancid. Simply because it has the word "Bay" in it.
redsock said...
ReplyDeleteVery glad this is an off day, too. We'll be back at full power tomorrow.
So ...... how long until someone uses BAY WATCH in a headline?
Thu Jul 31, 09:09:00 PM
That was fast.
fuck, im prolly not going to be able to watch it on nesn, as direct-tv blacksout other red sox programming. right now for the next couple of hours its "red sox classics" and they always get blacked out.
ReplyDeletesucks, looks like i'll have to listen on weei.com (ugh)
Wait...blacked out cause youre in NY?
ReplyDeleteI'm relying on my slingbox + directv to watch the PC on NESN...directv subscribed address is in Maine, for the purpose of being able to watch Red Sox baseball.
Saw Brandon Moss' first defensive chance in RF for Pittsburgh (at Wrigley) on Sopcast, and his first AB. He fouled off two pitches, took a high fastball for a ball, then struck out swinging.
ReplyDeleteHis first defensive chance was a nice running catch and a throw to first to double off Fukudome.
Wait...blacked out cause youre in NY?
ReplyDeleteI'm relying on my slingbox + directv to watch the PC on NESN...directv subscribed address is in Maine, for the purpose of being able to watch Red Sox baseball.
LOL! There ya go. That's fantastic.
I want a slingbox.
HOLY SHIT!
ReplyDeleteJust got this email from the Guardian in the UK:
"Hi - we liked your tribute to Manny so much that we've linked to your blog.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/america
and click on the photo of Manny at Fenway Park.
Thanks."
That's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteyeah, becuase i live in NY, most programming that has to do with RED SOX games that inst carried by direct tv gets blacked out. so even if its a red sox classic, or a replay of the game, i cant see it.
ReplyDeletei can see red sox report, pregame, etc.
right now its red sox classic, and its blacked out. doesnt maine have nesn? so you should get it regardless...
how does slingbox work around the blackout? doesnt it just link direct to yr tv? if you kived in NY you'd be wathcing a black screen via yr slingbox, no?
i can see red sox report, pregame, etc.
ReplyDeleteright now its red sox classic, and its blacked out. doesnt maine have nesn? so you should get it regardless...
Yeah, I have NESN. I just think Slingbox would be cool.
I'm trying to get the main page to print, but it keeps crashing.
ReplyDeleteWELL DESERVED, REDSOCK!
ReplyDeleteTim, you have a mac? Heh.
ReplyDeleteish, i know its cool, but i was addressing tim as im curious about his set-up.
ReplyDeleteish, i know its cool, but i was addressing tim as im curious about his set-up.
ReplyDeletegotcha.
Team meeting at 3:30. Lowell's batting fourth, Bay fifth. Press Conf. still at 3:45
That's sweet redsock! This place is teh rox0rz!
ReplyDeleteI live in Canada. My mom lives in Maine, and my Dad prefers US TV to Canada for whatever reason. Due to the unreliability of stealing satellite signals, we got a DirecTV subscription and used my Mom's Maine address for the subscription so I can watch NESN.
Right now, I'm not living at home where the DirecTV is cause I'm up at university - so I got myself a slingbox. Basically you put the video out from the satellite into the slingbox and hook the slingbox up to your internet router. Then you download the slingplayer and can log in and watch the slingbox from anywhere.
yes sir, recently converted to the macbook. i really didn't want to deal with vista...how could you tell?
ReplyDeletealso, manny dodger press conference at 7pm on ESPNNews
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify that post - parents are divorced. Mom lives in Maine and my dad lives in Ontario here with me (when I'm not in school)
ReplyDeleteyes sir, recently converted to the macbook. i really didn't want to deal with vista...how could you tell?
ReplyDeleteThe screensho of Boston Globe's website. The text. Had that mac look to it.
Where in Maine does your mother live?
tim, thanks. yeah i've read a lot about the slingbox, it sounds pretty awesome.
ReplyDeletebut maine gets nesn anyway, right?
nice move on yr part regardless!
I haven't been anywhere in Maine that didn't seem to have NESN on its basic cable package.
ReplyDeleteI won't be able to join you tonight (and I'll miss Manny's debut with the Bums as well)... I hope we win. [sob!]
ReplyDeleteI'm sad.
Oh, and sportswriters suck. Each and every one. I may eventually be reconciled to one or two of them, but it won't be soon.
Ahh, thats what I figured. I'm happy with it, a very idiot-proof machine.
ReplyDeleteShe's up in Searsport (assuming you know where that is...populations like 2500 or something.) - beside Belfast.
Nice scenic area, I guess the whole state is basically, a lot of fat people though, and poor. Apparently it's one of the poorest counties (Waldo)...I dunno, she spends a lot of her time in Miami for work (about 1/2 of 2007) and they're considering moving there once her husband finishes his MBA (he was laid off a couple years ago due to outsourcing, so the state has some program where they pay for you to upgrade your skills to get another job)
She's up in Searsport (assuming you know where that is...populations like 2500 or something.) - beside Belfast.
ReplyDeleteI actually drove through Searsport last month.
Wow, redsock, that's fantastic about the Guardian! And well deserved!
ReplyDeleteI hope this means someone will bring it to Manny's attention. (That makes me feel a little less sad.)
NESN still hasn't cut away from Classics.
ReplyDeleteFrom the paper's main page, if you click "Comment", then "America", it's the top story! Very curious about how much traffic will come over...
ReplyDeleteIn shittier news, there is a ton of Powerpoint editing/formatting to do. We'll see how much game I get to watch.
Yeh Maine gets NESN but I have no way of getting NESN in Canada besides illegally subscribing or pirating DirecTV or Dish Net...which is why I subscribed to Direct in Maine, in order to avoid the blackouts.
ReplyDeleteI also have a mailbox in Niagara Falls, NY - which is actually how I initially subscribed to DirecTV.
The first night when I found out about this MLB blackout shit, I had to call DirecTV to tell them I was moving :P (after being subscribed for like a day) That was a fun one. They wanted to come install a new dish on the house and everything. Oh, and I can't call DirecTV from Canada so I had to download some sort of internet phone thingy and use that to call. Oh, and I didn't have a mic for my computer so I had to use a pair of headphones to speak into.
So if anyone ever questions my fandom of this team - blow it out your ass!
ReplyDeleteI actually drove through Searsport last month.
All 5 minutes of it? :P
Aww goddammit! One of the audio wires came loose on the slingbox so I only get it on the left speaker. I've had this problem before.
Here comes the PC
NESN's got the press conference.
ReplyDelete"I think there were some things going on with the team that were real, and not imagined." -Theo
ReplyDelete"There was doubt, there was even exhaustion on the part of some players, and a major distraction."
ReplyDelete"Pretty major distraction"
ReplyDeleteYou got this, ish? heh
ReplyDelete"I think the team comes first. We just had a meeting - 25 guys down there feeling like a team, and that hasn't been that way for awhile."
ReplyDelete"Very reminiscent of 2004 with three teams involved - four involved in 2004. 3:59:59 to a certain extent. Crazy day, lots of doubt. This didn't truly get resusitated until a couple of minutes before the deadline.
ReplyDeleteHopefully someone will ask him about the bullpen.
ReplyDelete"The commissioner's office computers crashed overnight. ...The trade was finished at the deadline but a lot of paperwork needed to be done."
ReplyDeleteAhhh redsock, damn powerpoints. Crank those babies out!
ReplyDelete"I don't think it's important how we feel. What matters ultimately is winning, and winning the right way. SO, I felt it was important to gauge what was real and what was imagined. It's undeniable that we were - there was an environment not conducive to winning in this club. We also wanted to make a good baseball trade, for now and for the future, and I hope we were able to accomplish that."
ReplyDelete"We lost one of the best hitters, probably in the history of baseball yesterday, but we got a real good baseball player back."
ReplyDeletemlb.com have a link for a live video feed for free!
ReplyDelete"We had other things we were trying to accomplish, and in this trade market we weren't able to accomplish them."
ReplyDeleteI've got to go see our poor car now. :(
tito looks pissed. ha. he hates this shit.
ReplyDeleteI've got to go see our poor car now. :(
ReplyDeleteUh oh...It's always kinda scary seeing it the first time. How you feeling today?
WTF Ellsbury leading off?
In Theo We Trust
ReplyDeleteTito: "I was pleased. Very pleased"
ReplyDeleteLowell batting cleanup, Bay hitting 5th, Drew 6th.
ReplyDeleteBay arrives @ Fenway
ReplyDeletewtf, "are you hiding your giddiness?"
ReplyDeleteBay wearing 44 - guess he didn't want to make a donation to ALS
ReplyDeletebay really seems to be taking this all in stride!
ReplyDeletegood attitude. i sure hope he can "take this tie to colorado"
Bay really reiterating, he's not manny, not trying to be manny.
ReplyDeleteSeems really excited, I know this is getting me anxious for 7pm!
he looks like JD DREW 2 (facially)
ReplyDeletei hope he rakes as well as this press conference went.
ReplyDeleteWorrrrd nixon.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how big his uniform is going to be tonight.
last night listening to the overnight on ESPN radio. the guy hosting was describing the red sox now as Theo being darth vader (ruthless), and all the players being the storm troopers, all in a line, not saying anything and doing their job in fear.
ReplyDeletewhat a cock.
Also, he must homer in his first at bat, a la O-Cab in 2004.
ReplyDeleteGlobe:
ReplyDeleteBay, who grew up in Trail, British Columbia, said he [sic] dad was a diehard Red Sox fan. He said that as an infant he wore a Red Sox onesie, which he still has.
************
Also, he must homer in his first at bat, a la O-Cab in 2004.
ReplyDeletea la Manny as well, I'd say.
Tim, I'm still sore. I didn't wake up more sore than I was last night, but I'm still sore on my left side. I did NOT have a nice time seeing the car, especially with it sitting with other crashed cars.
It pisses me off because right now, I'm having a hard time leaving home and feeling relatively safe about it.
Analysis.
ReplyDeletei hope i like bay, but i'll always LOVE manny.
ReplyDeleteAnd, we're on the fence as to whether it'll be written off or need to be repaired. I don't mind driving, but I just don't want to drive that car again.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, a la Manny as well. O-Cab just came to mind because of the whole deadline dealing...
ReplyDeleteMan, that sucks ish. But I guess it could have been A LOT worse.
So you were on the side that got hit? Shit.
I'm a stats idiot because I don't consult them first but why not Drew in cleanup?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know what you mean about not wanting to drive again. Which is why I'm thankful my car was a writeoff.
ReplyDeleteYou know what I just realized? Your accident was exactly one year after mine. Weird as hell.
My car accident was on Thursday, August 2, 2007 (the Thursday before the long weekend in Canada). I guess not one year to the day, but still...
andy, I think Tito didn't want to have two lefties (Tiz and Drew) back to back.
ReplyDeleteSo you were on the side that got hit? Shit.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I was driving - most of the damage was the driver's side door.
What was the nature of your accident?
Here it is, ish
ReplyDeleteAnd to answer l-girl's post from that thread, no drinking involved. The worst part about it was that I was actually trying to set an example for the passenger in the car by not drinking, as he's driven drunk before.
If there's anything that I'm vehemently opposed to its just that.

ReplyDeleteIt is amazing that not only do these guys still retain high-paying newspaper jobs, but they are able to walk upright.
Verbal diarrhea, I tells ya. Or would it be written diarrhea?
ReplyDeleteWhatever the case, I find it funny that all the comments on the actual article's site are also bashing the trade.
Afternoon, everybody. Big day today for the Sox, eh?
ReplyDeleteBatting Bay 5th is a good move - let's see how Kid Canada does there before we put him in Manny's spot. Batting Drew 6th makes me sad, though. Of course, Tito wouldn't bat Drew 3rd over Ortiz in a billion years.
Kudos to redsock for making it to the Guardian! Best source of US news there is. No surprise that it's not American. Their soccer stuff is a joy to read, as well.
not to beat the manny drum, but do you think a lot of this turns out this ugly if manny doesn't hire Boras this past off season?
ReplyDeleteMichael Kay openly rooting for manny to fail, for insulting the integrity of the game.
ReplyDelete"when he didnt take the bat off of his shoulders vs Mo, thats what mannys about."
Anyone in the southern New Hampshire region want a FREE pair of sox tickets? All you have to do is perform for me one special task.
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe answer a few riddles as well...
As Kay and the Yankees welcome yet another steroid abuser onto the team .......
ReplyDeletemy thoughts exactly, redsock. guess who hes interviewing in the very next segment?!
ReplyDeleteunfuckingbelievable.
they are comparing him to T.O. and Latrell Spreewell.(sp? for both)
Cock. August concert weekend that I won't be home is the same weekend Sox are in Toronto. Ratdog/Allman Brothers in Canandaigua, NY. Maybe I can make it back for the Sunday game...if they play like they normally do in T.O....well then fuck it.
ReplyDeleteheard an interview with ned colletti, and the question was asked "what did torre say when you first approached him about possibly getting manny"
ReplyDeletehis response was something to the effect that he didnt have to get further in the sentence than "theres a chance we might get manny ram-"
to which torre interupted and said "get him"
pretty cool i thought. anyway, it doesnt mean anything...
Anyone in the southern New Hampshire region want a FREE pair of sox tickets? All you have to do is perform for me one special task.
ReplyDeleteSeeing as I'm the closest one to you... What's the simple task?
olney saying that what manny did is almost worse than the black sox scandal!
ReplyDeletewhat a cunt hat.
Ahhh, Ish, I'm glad you asked, seeing as though I was basically talking to you.
ReplyDeleteAlthough given your accident last night it's kind of odd.
I need a ride to the Manchester airport a week from tomorrow at 3am. I don't have any friends around here that have legal cars.
nix = masochist
ReplyDeletenix = masochist
ReplyDeletedefinitely.
sorry if you'd seen these numbers before, and i know the OPS+ numbers are close, but the road OPS numbers are a bit futher apart.
ReplyDeletemanny's OPS last 3 years ('06-'08)
on the road:
990, 871, 941
Bay's OPS '06-'08 on the road:
925, 766, 848
i'm not sure how to weight ops+ vs. ops on the road...
also, Bay has only 7 homers on the road this year.
He's what we got, and so I welcome him with open arms.
ReplyDeleteolney saying that what manny did is almost worse than the black sox scandal!
ReplyDeleteBuster Olney should be way smarter than that. Geez.
I'll be watching tonight, but not threading until later. I have to watch the game while I do other things.
I welcome my fellow Canadian to Fenway, of course. Gotta.
well, you can't spell 'hyperbole' without 'buster olney'.
ReplyDeletemore or less.
Kay, however, I'm not surprised. That man doesn't have a generous or good-hearted bone in his body. He is so full of loathing and contempt for the game and the people he covers. It just oozes from him.
ReplyDeleteHe's truly disgusting.
Nix, give it up before you go blind!
to which torre interupted and said "get him"
ReplyDeleteTorre is no dummy.
I CANT HELP IT!
ReplyDeleteEvening all, been a little while ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the guardian link redsock...nice that one of our national rags is actually concerned about sport outside of the country.
Btw I'm friends with Keith Law on Facebook and he is using his status to imply some deals were done after the deadline...interesting.
Buster Olney...sounds more like Buster Bluth.
ReplyDeleteSure feels like the second half of the season starts tonight.
ReplyDeleteTrue that.
ReplyDeleteGood ol' 100+ comments before the game even starts gamethread.
5 mintues to manny presa conference and red sox start to the second half. (and the MFY/FKR games)
ReplyDeleteI need a ride to the Manchester airport a week from tomorrow at 3am. I don't have any friends around here that have legal cars.
ReplyDeleteLMAO. I would have really considered it if I hadn't just gotten kicked in the side by a one ton pickup truck. At this point, though, I'm sad to say it's quite a long shot. I'd say there's a 5% chance I'd be able to do it.
It sounds like they really slowed down the NESN baseball song there.
ReplyDeleteThis commercial is just insulting to ish, man. Someone won't be having a Subaru summer.
ReplyDeleteN'Sync? Really NESN?
ReplyDeletefingers bleeding from being crossed for so long
ReplyDeletePlease make a winning start to this "new era"
Please...
I'd say there's a 5% chance I'd be able to do it.
ReplyDeleteOh well. I have faith I'll find a ride with my coveted prize, but it will be interesting to see who takes the challenge.
Heh, big pirate flag in the 'pen.
ReplyDeleteManny's going to wear #99!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good start to the second second half.
ReplyDeleteNEW YORK SUPER FUNK CHUDGE TIME!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ben and Jerry's.
JUSTIN DOUSCHER IS THROWING A NO-HITTER!
ReplyDeleteNice start from Wake...including a good olde frisbie knuckleball lol
ReplyDelete...in the bullpen
ReplyDeleteDuke-sure? At the press conference Francona clearly said Doucher.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have a niece that lives in SE NH that wants sox tickets?
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering what Dale and Dave would sound like. This is cool.
ReplyDeleteI check in for a minute and the first post I see is Patrick looking for a niece.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking the E offer off the table :)
Wonder if Joe was able to snag a ticket for tonight.
ReplyDeletelol. Good luck stopping me! I'm leaving on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to see a lot more Red Sox news in media up here. Any Canadian athlete anywhere... Wait, make that any famous or semi-famous Canadian anywhere, and they're on it.
ReplyDeleteOK, back to the laundry and paper nonsense until later.
terrible audio on the Manny press conference (checking the recording during commercial breaks) - can't hear any of the questions.
ReplyDeleteQuote: "What happened in Boston is in the past... I'm just thinking blue right now."
(reflecting the feelings of many a Sox fan, no doubt)
(btw, I'm another mostly-lurker drawn out of the shadows by the Manny deal... although I didn't post last night it was great reading everyone's comments - especially the Redsock/L-girl duet on the merits of Manny. Congrats on the Guardian link, that is both awesome and well-deserved.)
ReplyDeleteI'm liking these lurkers.
ReplyDeleteLotsa work tonight, but I do have NESN in one ear. Also wanna see Bay this inning.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for all the kind words.
Right on time...
ReplyDeletehere we go.
ReplyDeleteWow. I wasn't expecting this.
ReplyDeleteDuke-sure? At the press conference Francona clearly said Doucher.
ReplyDeleteWhen he was a reliever a couple years ago all I heard his name pronounced was doucher.
Standing ovation at Fenway for Jason Bay! Bay tips his cap to the fans, and stands back in there.
LONG standing ovation!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHuge ovation. That was a nice welcome.
ReplyDeletegood evening from England - if the first post I put up didn't get through!
ReplyDeleteWho is this bloke?
that was a great reception for Bay, very nice.
ReplyDeleteHe has a similar batting stance as Derrek Lee.
ReplyDeleteGet that OBP up there!
ReplyDeleteBBay!
ReplyDeleteWho is this bloke?
ReplyDeleteHe certainly looks like a football player from your way, Lord, doesn't he?
Great welcome for bay :)
ReplyDeleteNow bring him home, JD Power!
Back to the grind.
ReplyDeleteOn Fire!
ReplyDeletewho, ish?
ReplyDeleteAnd he gets a hit!!! NICE.
ReplyDeleteWelcome efd former lurker. :)
OMG LOOK AT THAT! THATS HOW YOU RUN!
ReplyDelete/mediot
Fire ON!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhew. Manny would've GIDP right there then assaulted Suzuki.
ReplyDeleteI've always heard it pronounced Duke-sher.
ReplyDeleteBye again.
A walk for Bay...
ReplyDeleteHe's one of us now.
speaking of uniform numbers (as they just were on NESN), from what Manny said in the press conference (at least the few minutes I've watched) it sounds like #99 was not his idea.
ReplyDeleteWooooooo
ReplyDeleteOh, it's easy to love Bay after that. He just caught my heart the easiest way possible.
ReplyDeleteIt is pronounced duke-scher.
ReplyDeleteAnd he scores a run! Crowd going wild. The Bay era begins.
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready for it yet, still pretty sad about the end of the other era. But here it is, ready or not.
first game
ReplyDeletefirst run
Cashie's goin deep tonight!
ReplyDeletei heard manny was going to have 28
ReplyDeletewho, ish?
ReplyDeleteGeneralizing. Maybe I mean stereotypical football fanatic.
CASH DIDNT HUSTLE DOWN THE LINE!!!! HE SHOULD BE THROWN OFF THE TEAM!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't want to go on about it but did anyone catch the Manny conference? I can't get it in England so just wondering if anything interesting was said?
ReplyDeleteRemy: "Always been a fan of Manny."
ReplyDeleteI got plenty of blog posts that say otherwise, Jerry.
Talking about MBM ducking games as an established fact.
ReplyDelete[reaching for mute button]
ReplyDeleteRemy: "He annoyed me when he didn't run out balls."
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone out there have Remy's email address?
yeah -- just yanked out the ear phone.
ReplyDeleteso i'd rather not know anything about the game than hear that.
shut the fuck up jerry remy. is it respect for the game to sell t-shirts and talk about a little doll for the whole game????
ReplyDeleteand now he says "i'm not going to manny-bash".
so we get to sit and listen to management's position, with no other POV, as if it's all fact.
fuck you jerry remy. you and your respect for the game.
at least he admitted the sox wanted to get manny out of town no matter what.
Remy "I'm not going to Manny bash."
ReplyDeleteEr Jerry? Thats what your doing.
I take it that NESN is owned by the Boston Red Sox....
ReplyDeleteI was typing that out before I read the comments. Cool.
ReplyDeleteMy dog chased a porcupine up a tree on our walk today. It was cool getting that close to one. My dog escaped un-pricked.
ReplyDeleteListen to him run down Manny's fielding skills, too! "He's a great ballplayer - a great hitter, I should say..."
ReplyDelete"I mean, I like the guy, I really do."
With friends like that.
Amazing - these clowns barely mention anything outside the game being played in front of them every single night -- now the deal is done, you can't shut them up about this shit.
ReplyDeleteFO whores.
Lord, yes, NESN is the Red Sox's station.
ReplyDeleteWhatever makes you think that lord lynch lol?
ReplyDeleteWhy did Remy correct himself when he said "a great ballplayer" - er, there was no doubt Manny was that.
ReplyDeleteWhy would you stop on that?
Hey Patrick, I'm just tuning in now, but where in NH are you? I have friends who might take that gauntlet you've just thrown down, if you want to trust the friends of your imaginary friends...
ReplyDeleteSomeone should send Remy this game thread. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteHEY JERRY REMY, YOU'RE NO MANNY RAMIREZ.
ReplyDeleteGod - have you gone to Remy's site lately? What a fucking mess.
ReplyDeleteI don't know danndann?
ReplyDeleteAll I know for a nation that can't abide communism, that didn't half sound like the Red Sox version of Pravda.....
Good thing I went for a nice bathroom break that inning. Sounds like what I was listening to was about the equivalent of what you all were listening to.
ReplyDeleteDon't want to go on about it but did anyone catch the Manny conference?
ReplyDeleteDannDann, I DVR'd it and posted one early comment about it earlier, but too busy this this game to watch the rest of it at the moment.
At least by trading for Jason Bay, I can say now I have seen a Red Sox player in a game in the flesh.....
ReplyDeleteYou like American Football, Lynch? Do you have a favorite team? Feel free to say the Giants if that's the case. You are across the ocean.
ReplyDeleteHeidi and I are wearing the same colour shirt!
ReplyDeletejerry@theremyreport.com ?
ReplyDeletejremy@nesn.com ?
The pleasant face of Pravda....
ReplyDeleteKingston, Jamaica, I mean NH.
ReplyDeleteIs said friend a Niece?
too busy this this game
ReplyDeleteerr, *with* this game.
Still getting the hang of this watching/posting thing.
