Yeah, it stays in play. I've been involved in a number of plays as a little league coach where you had to get to the end of a play as quickly as possible and avoid your instinct to go running on the field to tend to an injured player.
Tell your runners to hold up earlier than you might have otherwise so you can call time, stuff like that.
