Napoli Returns To Sox For Two Years

Rob Bradford and Alex Speier, WEEI:
According to multiple industry sources, the Red Sox have agreed to re-sign first baseman Mike Napoli, bringing the 32-year-old back on a two-year, $32 million deal. It is believed that the Red Sox did not have the best offer to the free agent — the Rangers were thought to have a larger contract on the table — but that the first baseman decided that he wanted wanted to return to the team and city where he thrived in 2013.
In other news, Napoli still has his beard.

Bradford tweet: "When looked like Texas might be in lead for Napoli today, large group of Red Sox players urged for front office to make push. They did."

Large group of players urged the front office??? The players have that kind of clout now? Where was that when they hired Valentine?

I have trouble believing that tweet...

I thought Napoli at first base was a stretch at best....

Boy was I wrong....

Curious as to why we don't lock up Lester....

Looking more like Drew could be back, unlike many others I think he is a rock solid player and just might go off offensively next year.

Interesting offseason and just getting started! I like our team and expect us to get better as the hot stove season goes on.
