David Ortiz hit career home run #498 in the third inning. Mookie Betts had already homered (15-game hitting streak) with two outs when - after singles by Dustin Pedroia and Xander Bogaerts - Ortiz launched his 31st dong of the season to dead center.

Ryan Hanigan and Betts hit run-scoring doubles in the fourth. ... In the fifth, Pablo Sandoval singled in one run, Hanigan doubled in two, and Betts's fielder's choice gave Boston a 10-1 lead.

Betts, Ortiz, and Hanigan each had three RBI.

Joe Kelly (5.2-6-1-2-5, 110) won his eighth consecutive start, the longest streak by a Red Sox starter since Pedro Martinez won nine straight in 1999. Kelly is the only major league pitcher to win eight straight starts this season.

After this series, the Blue Jays play four at the MFY (Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun).
(There are also 3 more game at Skydome, Sept 21-22-23.)
