In tonight's game thread, FenFan posted:
"Craig Kimbrel was named AL Reliever of the Month for May 2017. He struck out 25 batters and allowed only ONE HIT (MLB.com At Bat's emphasis, not mine)."
I posted:
Batters went 1-for-40 off CK in May. The lone hit came on May 11 - and was an infield single that Kimbrel fielded. (I didn't see that game, so I'm not sure how weak the hit was. But clearly, it could not have been much of a line drive.)
Kimbrel's last 13 appearances (since April 30):
13.2 innings
1 hit
0 runs
1 walk
25 strikeouts
181 pitches - 72% for strikes (!)
Batters have a .069 OPS (!!) (OBP: .045 & SLG: .023)
